Arrival Story:
Feather was my cousins cat. She had Feather since kittenhood. My uncle found Feather as a stray and sent her home with a relative to give to my cousin. When Feather was 14 years old my cousin moved out of state and left Feather with my aunt who did not want Feather. Try as she might, she could not persuade my cousin to take responsibility for Feather. My cousin claimed she had "no room". When in reality, she just didn't want Feather anymore. She wanted a new kitten.

Bio:
I could not take in another cat, which is what my cousin expected me to do. My aunt did not want Feather. The cat received no love or affection. She was often growly and aggressive towards strangers in the home, including me. I convinced my aunt to have Feather euthanized because I knew she was not adoptable. I work at an animal shelter and know what kind of stress Feather would have endured if surrendered for adoption. Given her aggressive tendencies, I also knew her chances of adoption were slim. My aunt finally agreed to have Feather euthanized. I was with Feather the last hours of her life. Upon entering the shelter, she completely changed. She became 100% at ease with her surroundings. She ate her last meal of wet food. She spent her last loaf on a blanket full of hearts. She seemed almost happy to be out of a home where noone wanted her anymore. She is at rest now. She was 14 years old when she died and in perfect health.

You left me here. I died in a strange room in a strange place, without you... I died here because you didn't want me anymore. You wanted a new kitten. Thanks mom.

Why I Made This::
I made Feather this profile so she is remembered. In the end she was loved. Someone who loved her was with her when she died. I hope my cousin is haunted by her disgusting actions until the day SHE is laying on the slab. I hope I can forgive her one day.
