Arrival Story:
I was a mgr at Petco. Moonshine's mother was from NOAH and was in my store up for adoption with two of her kits. Kathy, a "stumpy" Manx , gained a remarkable amount of weight, so I told the shelter lady--she's pregnant. No, Yes, No, Yes--she was! We fostered Kathy at our home until she had her kittens & weaned them. Kathy had four kittens on Easter Saturday, and Moonie, a "powderpuff" Manx, was the runt of the litter. We had to bottle feed her and got very attached to her, so she stayed when her brothers & sisters went back to Petco to be placed for adoption. My son named her Moonshine because her "moon" 'shined".

Bio:
Moonshine left us quite suddenly a couple of months ago. We woke up to a loud keening. We thought it was our geriatric cat, Harry, at first. It was Moonshine, keening and having the dry-heaves. I woke my son & my husband up. Moonie ran to the back door, keened & dry-heaved a couple of more times, laid down and was dead within a minute. She had been in perfect health, and had a routine vet visit just a couple of weeks before. The vet believes she had an anurism in her stomach that ruptured. We still can't believe she's gone. We were very tempted to ask for Khajitt back, Moonshine's & OzzyCat's son, so we'd have a part of her still, but he is greatly loved by the people who have him. Khajiit is a "rumpy" Manx, and he has extra toes like his father, OzzyCat. Here's a family pic with Khajiit in the foreground, OzzyCat and Moonshine. G*d, I miss her...
