Arrival Story:
Simon was found through petfinder.com. My son and I drove 2 hours to pick him up. When we were at the shelter, we met his siblings and 15 other cats. Simon was the friendliest of his litter mates. He had ringworm and ear mites, but now that is all cleared up. He didn't take long to fully adjust to his new home, and have his typical Maine Coon personality take form.

Hello Again

It's been a long while since I wrote last. Things have been really crazy for a while. My human brother is a teen ager now and on the phone all the time. He doesn't play with me as much. My mom was really busy for a long while and not home a lot so I had to spend a lot of time on my own, and I don't really like to sit with Dad. But she is home now and it's great. I spend every night on the sofa with her when she watches TV or reads a book. It's cool having her home.

I just got back from the vet and I hate it. I had to go with my crabby sister, Trixie, and I didn't want to be in the room so I tried to get in her carrier because my mom closed the door to mine. Trixie was still in there and she hissed at me, but I didn't care and pushed my way in. Trixie left and went to go sit on the scale before the vet walked in. Ha ha ha, she got to get checked out first - and they say I'm the dumb one : ) Anyway, things are okay but I have to lose some weight. The vet said 16 and a half pounds was too much. I am a Maine Coon, and I don't think that's a lot for me.

After the vet, my human brother was hungry and mom said we would go to Wendy's to get him food. What about me, huh? How about sending a triple burger my way? I guess it's not in the cards. I have to stay in this carrier and smell the food. It was horrible. As soon as I got home I ran out of the carrier and high tailed it to the basement. I'll show them. I'll hide and not come out until later.

What's all this fuss about football?

I think my mom and dad have lost their minds. They are going on and on about "the big game" and making all kinds of plans. They are all going to go to a friends house dressed in these football jerseys leaving me all along to be with my sister who won't talk to me, to see some football game on TV. I just don't understand what all the fuss is about. What I do like is them giving me kisses and new treats. Mom went to the supermarket and I guess since she is all excited about the game I got new treats. Yummy treats shaped like fish...but I digress.

I sure hope her team wins. 'Cause otherwise I might not get yummy treats and lucky kisses. Go Eagles.

New Toy

Mom got me a new toy last night. It drove me WILD! I just can't figure out what that little red dot is doing going all over the house! I can't smell it, but I can sure see a bright red dot. It's fast and goes around the floor and up the wall. Thing is that when I put my paw over it, it disappears! What gives. I can hear Mom laughing her head off. Last night my human brother had a sleepover and it was just her and me after Daddy went to bed (I like it best then 'cause she pays all kinds of attention to me then). I heard a little click and then saw this bright red dot going all over the place. Then I hear a little click and it goes away.

This morning when Mom let me out of the kitchen I wanted her to play with me some more. I looked at the wall where the dot was and then looked at her several times. I think she got the message because there was the click and there was the dot! What fun. Then she had to go to work. : (
