This weekend's cat show

Mom took us all to an ACFA cat show this weekend. It was local, which was great.

I made one final on Sat. 5th Best All Breed Alter. With that final, I became an ACFA Grand Champion Alter! Mom was so happy and excited! Sometimes exhibitors bring in a cake when their cat Grands. Mom decided to get me a cake to celebrate the next day at the show.

I also made another final on Sun. 5th Best All Breed Alter. This show also had a costume contest for fun. 8 or 9 cats were entered. I won 5th place and a $5 gift certificate to use at any vendor booth. Mom got us a fish bed. Mom was very happy how I did this weekend! Attaching pictures...

This weekend's cat show

Mom took us to an ACFA cat show in Champlain, MN this weekend. It's the start of the new show season, and Mom was a little surprised what tough competition was out there already. There were 30 cats in our class (Alters) too.

I did okay. I had no breed competition this weekend. I made one final, 3rd Best All Breed Alter, and even beat Linus and Vinny to get that award! I still need to make one more final to be awarded Grand Champion status in ACFA. Hopefully I'll get that soon... Mom is very proud of all of us.

This weekend's cat show...

Mom took all three of us to an ACFA cat show in Chippewa Falls, WI this weekend. There was another Tonkinese entered against me for Best of Breed in the Alters class. I got Best of Breed in 3/8 rings and made one final - 9th Best All Breed Alter. It's the end of the show season too, when the competiton gets fierce. Mom and I are pretty happy with how I did.

My Gotcha Day Anniversary

Today is my Gotcha Day! I've now been in my forever home for two years. A lot has happened in two years... I was adopted when I was 7 and a half months old. Mom drove 4 hours (one way) to meet my breeder and bring me home. Thank you to the kitties who left rosettes and sent paw mail remembering my Gotcha Day!

I'm a Dreamboat!

Samoa has named me her Dreamboat #72b! I'm meowless! Thank you so much Samoa! I'm very flattered and honored.

Eye appointment

Mom took me to the veterinary ophthalmologist yesterday for a follow up appointment to monitor the "freckles" in my left eye. The doctor and tech were very nice and I'm happy to say my eyes checked out okay. We will continue to monitor my eye every 6-8 months. Just like a freckle or mole can turn cancerous, so can eye freckles. Unfortunately you can't just surgically remove eye freckles. Mom is to watch me, and if she notices any green/yellow discharge, cloudiness, unequal pupils, or if the eye ever seems to bother me - she's to call and they'll get me in sooner. Right now, nothing to worry about though.

Halloween

Mom took Vinny and I to PetCo for their annual Halloween pet costume contest. I won 3rd place in my Harley Rider costume! I won a ribon, a fancy certificate, a $5 PetCo gift card, and a toy ball. Surprisingly, not too many pets turned up for the contest. Mom just posted my picture in my costume.

New pictures!

Mom posted the pictures Preston Smith took of me at the CFA show in the Twin Cities tonight. I wasn't very cooperative for the photo shoot, and Mom was impressed with the shots he got of me. Let me know what you think!

This weekend's cat show

Mom took Linus and I to a CFA cat show this weekend. It was a two day show with 6 rings/judges each day. Mom wanted to see if I could get any points toward CFA Grand Premier like Linus. I managed to make finals in 3/12 rings, so I will have some Grand points coming. Mom's not sure how many yet, and will have to check that on-line in a few days. The show did not get get a lot of cats, and due to the low count, I will probably not get a lot of points... maybe 10 (if that). CFA requires 75 points for the title of Grand Premier which is equal to Grand Champion, but for spays and neuters.

The photographer Preston Smith was also there at the show, so Mom decided to get pictures of both Linus and I. Neither one of us was was very cooperative. I wouldn't show any interest in any of their toys, and just kind of crouched there looking a little scared and tense. Mom hoped I'd relax after a little while and cooperate, but I didn't (neither did Linus). Linus and I proved very challenging for the photographer, but he was good, and did manage to get a few decent shots he'll work with. Mom should have the pictures in about a month and will post them to our Catster pages.

**update** I officially got 11 Grand points at the show. 75 points are required for the title of CFA Grand Premier, so 64 more points to go...

This weekend's cat show

Mom took me to a local ACFA cat show this weekend along with Linus and Vada. There was another natural mink Tonkinese neutered male entered against me. I did get Best of Breed over him once on Saturday and 3 times on Sunday. He left before the last ring Sunday, so I got Best of Breed 4/7 rings and the 8th ring I got Best of Breed by default. He was a very nice Tonk, and Mom was a little encouraged that I beat him in some rings. Then as Mom was packing up to go home, I made the final in the last ring. I got 5th Best Shorthair Alter in the Specialty Ring. Mom was so happy I finally made a final! No early retirement for me anymore...
