Arrival Story: Nibbles invited himself to a Labor day barbeque while I was living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. His charm, personality and persistance were irrestitable. He would visit us every Saturday before we took him in. We were apprehensive since we already had a male cat who wasn't too fond of other cats. One very cold and snowy day in October, I walked out of my house. I hear a loud me-me-meow! from 3 houses down. Nibbles climbed over 2 fences to greet me on the porch. Meowing insistantly and running under my car so I could not drive away. I opened the car door and got out. Nibbles stood in front of me, me-me-meowed again and motioned his head towards my door. I figured out he was telling me to let him in and He wasn't going to take no for an answer. How could I resist?
S.W. stands for his original name. The night of the barbeque he was dubbed Sparky, I added The Wondercat part to it after he flew around the apartment one night like a flying squirrel. The name Nibbles came to us after a few days of him living with us. It just fit him.

Bio: He was a tuff little brooklyn-born streetcat, the ultimate alpha-male. would stand up to rotweilers, german shepards, cats twice his size, he didn't care. I remember one summer afternoon before we took him in, I witnessed the cat chasing chickens into the street (I had neighbor who kept livestock in a Brooklyn apartment house..Don't ask), and while everyone is scrambling to get the chickens back into the back yard, Nibbles goes back into the chicken coop and comes strutting out with a stolen egg in his mouth. Not only a bully, but smart one too.
He was stubborn and strong willed. He always let you know what he wanted, and would pout if he didn't get his way. Our relationship was incredibly special, he was my true furr-child. Nibbles passed from liver cancer 4 days before my birthday in 2002 . He will always be in my heart and I miss him very much.
