Arrival Story: Casey was my oldest cat. She was one of many outside only cats a neighbor had. She was untouchable and it took a long time to earn her trust. Eventually she got an abcess from a fight with another cat and I had to take her to the vets. After that, she became an inside only cat.
Bio: Casey was very sweet, but had to be handled carefully. She got much slower in her old age which made handling her easier. She got along well with most of my females, but didn't care for the males. She was fine if they left her alone, but she only played a little and mostly by herself. She liked to get on the bed with me in the morning in order to get all the attention she could.
Sadly, Casey was euthanized on Monday, January 3rd, 2011 in the AM due to a fast growing bone cancer in her jaw. Within a week it had taken over most of her lower jaw making it difficult for her to eat and affecting her breathing. She went peacefully and without pain. I will miss her and cherish all the memories of my time spent with her over the years. She was the last cat that represented my old life before I bagan working for the animal hospital. She was the only rescued cat from Holly Hill, Fl. I hope her spirit is with the others I had that passed before her. May they all be happy together.
