Arrival Story: Bella showed up at my door just before Christmas and wouldn't leave. I gave in after a week or more of her camping outside my door (even in the rain). I had her spayed, combo tested and vaccinated. It turned out that she wasn't always nice. She would turn and scratch sometimes without warning and she hissed a lot. I found out she seemed to prefer males to females, so I started searching for her owner and a possible new home where she could get better care.
Bio: There is a happy ending to this story. I found Bella's previous owners (a neighbor) who told me she had belonged to an elderly lady who went into a nursing home. The daughter kept her in the house alone for 3 years till her new owner took over. Unfortunately, when I tried to return her, she kept running away and back to my house. I gave it one more try and a rescue group gave me the number of a man who keeps semi-feral cats. After a quick visit, Bella settled in to her new home with no problems. It seems he had the magic touch!
