Arrival Story:
I contacted our local animal shelter here in Mineola, Tx and told then I wanted to adopt a youg cat or kitten. But one stipulation was that it wasn't afraid of dogs. My mom who I take care of said no siamese and she wanted a female.
The shelter called me on Feb. 12th,2008, to let me know they just got a little female , aprox. 3mos old, and was picked up at a house that had 7 dogs ranging from toy size up to big dogs and the kitten played with all of them. He told me she was only part siamese. My mom said that was ok...
I drove up and this little almost white kitten came outside and ran to the the end of the outside part of the cattery and just proceeded to beg me to take "her". I went inside and this slightly and faightly poited kitten ran straight for me and climbed up my pants leg. One look into it's beautiful deep blue eyes and I fell in love. After all the paperwork was done and I paid my $20.oo, I took it to it's new forever home. Well it turns out it was a he and found out he was a purebred Snowshoe! After introducing him to my shephard X (rescue also) and my mom's scotty X(50lbs and also a rescue!) Smudge Kitty made it known, that even tho my dog, 8 yrs and my mom's dog,10years, That He now rules the roost! There was no hissing or clawing, he just said I'm king around here!
Bio:
After he was home now, within 3 hours he proceeded to try and nurse on my shephard mix which she wasn't real thrilled about! It took 2 weeks to break that habit!
Smudge Face Kitty grew into a beautiful 15lb kitty. He actually initiates the play wrestling between him and mostly my shephard, Prancer but Skipper, the scotty X is allowed to play sometimes. Smudge usually is the winner of all wrestling matches around here!
Smudge demands his outside time each morning and afternoon, then comes in and demands his canned food, takes his nap then plays, nap,plays...until bedtime.
Basically Smudge thinks he's a dog being raised with the two and will come running in from outside if he sees another cat, ferral or tame, he's scared to death of another cat. The two cats that roam the area are both smaller than Smudge. both of them might equal 1 Smudge!
