Arrival Story: I had been fostering for the local humane society for about a year. When we came home from our honeymoon, they called to see if I would take a mom and her six kittens who were 4 weeks old. The kittens were born at the humane society, but they had not yet been able to find a foster home to take them.We took them in. We decided to name them all in the mystical theme. Mama was named Spirit, and babies were Gryphon, Cosmo, Phoenix. Black Magick, Aura and of course Wicca. Mama cat ended up being very sick when we brought her home and was not able to properly care for her kittens. We needed to syringe feed them all with milk supplement. The kittens also got sick and we lost our little Cosmo. The rest of the family got better, were spayed and neutered and went back to the humane society for adoption. Our Wicca, however, couldn't seem to get over her upper respiratory infection. The vet from the humane society said that she seemed to have a chronic case and would not be welcome back at the shelter. Either we could take her or she would be euthanized. After having cared for her since the age of four weeks, we couldn't imagine having her put to sleep because of what basically amounts to a common cold.

Well, it has already been nearly two weeks since I moved into my new home. I am happy to report that everything is great! I think that the most exciting thing for me is getting to sleep with my new owner and doggy pal Simon on the bed at night. What a treat! I had to sleep downstairs at my foster family's place. So far my upper respiratory hasn't flared up either. I am one lucky cat!

Well, last night I met this wonderful lady and her little Jack Russell/Chihuahua Simon. I was immediately comfortable around Simon and even started licking his face like I do with Ebony. They decided to take me home with them. I was already meowing when I got into the car, because I am not a big fan of being a passenger. I can't wait to explore my new home though! My foster parents are willing to take me back if I don't quite fit in with my new family, but I have high hopes that everything will work out great. Simon and I even visit the same vet already - how's that for a coincidence!

My foster mom saw me drinking water from my bowl last night. She said I had matured into a dainty drinker. I'm not really sure what she means...It must have something to do with the fact that I don't shove my face into the water bowl like the dog does. I dip my little paw in the water and then lick it dry. Isn't that how any respectable being drinks?
