My mom went to the shelter yesterday to bring the catnip toys she made. She got to watch the cats receive them and play. They really liked them. Everyone there said the organic catnip smelled really potent, and even a cat that never played with toys was playing with one. She had mixed emotions, because she felt happy to see them enjoying the toys, but sad that they had no forever home. There was one tortoiseshell kitten with no eyes- too damaged, and it broke mom's heart. but the kitten did sniff at a toy and play a little. One black kitten was hoarding his toy and hissed when another one wanted to play. It was funny. Then mom went to watch the adult cats with their toys. There was a really big tabby male that seemed to be in charge of the shelter. He meowed in a very opinionated way. Very cute. It was a nice visit. Mom saw another lady bring in a big box of blankies and supplies to donate and was happy. The woman said she didn't want to see the cats though, and mom kind of understands, because it was hard seeing them.

We love seeing the happy kitties and giving them something special, but knowing they will be alone without families, especially for Catmus, is so sad. You have to focus on the good, and you did some really good good! Those kitties now have a great batch of new toys to play with and the attention they got from your mommy probably made them really happy. It's hard, but it means so much to them, and they have so little! Thanks for helping out shelter kitties! HAPPY RIVER DANCES FOR HELPING OUT SHELTER KITTIES!!! Dad got to pet the little tortie cat again today. She's very friendly, but very skittish if the wrong sound or motion is made. Bent Ear came by to eat & didn't run away when Dad refilled the food dish. We're living among these poor cats who have no one to care for them,& we do what we can for them. If we win the lottery,we'll build a place for them to live, but that seems unlikely. So we'll just feed them & give them the affection they will allow. PS,Toki,Dude! That Elf cape thing makes you look like a Batman Super-Villain! MWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA! Meowmy Catmas to you, your mom, and all the shelter kitties she has helped! My meowmy also doesn't like to visit the kitties...she wants to take all of them home with her, and of course that isn't possible! But all the little kindnesses that peeps do, help a lot! Purrs! Hey, my mom is going to post a pic of two shelter kitties playing with the toys. Cool, Tigger, I can be a super-villain! Riddle me this: What has 4 paws and can fly? Me! my mom says I can practically fly. I jump from the top of this tall bookshelf to one of my special kitty shelves, and my mom measured the distance: it's 59 inches! The shelf I jump onto is only 8x12". It's just wood covered with fake fur- mom put a few up for me. Happy Catmas Toki and your loving family, what a lovely mommy you have and she has made many kitties very happy this Christmas, my mommy to tries to take samples to our RSPCA and gets upset every time. Hope you get you christmas wish lots of love Tilly xx |
