Playing with Mom. She races into the bedroom in the morning for her play section

Chloe loves to be loved on, but does not like to be picked up and carried.

Favorite Toy:
A feather toy with a bell on it.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Snuggled next to Mom with her head on the pillow and covered just like her humans!

Favorite Food:
Chloe will eat anything, and has quite an appetite

Chloe can jump to heights that are amazing! She is also incredibly fast!

Arrival Story:
I noticed Chloe wandering the neighborhood drinking out of the gutter, and crossing streets that were entirely too dangerous. This went on for about a week until she came running to my door one evening, soaking wet and hungry. I carried her into the house and she took to it like she owned the place. The next day I took her to the vet who told us she is an Egyptian Mau. She has the most fabulous gooseberry green ring around the pupil of her eyes. Actually it takes up half the colored portion of the eye. It look wonderful.. the green and then the yellow. Chloe is not afraid of anything, and loves to be with people. Chloe loves her adopted big brother Newman, who is over 20 pounds and adores her. ( He is pictured..the pic is the fourth one down, and is a great pic of his face looking out of his cat condo)

Lives Remaining:
9 of 9

Well, Chloe has miraculously discovered that a lap and a good pet and "scritch" are wonderful things!! Out of the blue, she now comes right over and curls up in my lap, eyes closed, and purring like crazy. I guess her "busy" kitten behavior is taking a back seat to a nice warm lap and a good petting. She even likes being brushed!

So much has happened..

I have been so lax with my diary, but so much has happened. My Mom had both of her knees replaced! I stayed next to her the whole time she was getting better. I never left her side. She had to walk with a thing I heard Mom call a walker. Dad put a basket on it, and I slept in it during the day right there so I could keep an eye on Mom, and when she walked with the walker thing, I rode in it wherever she went.

After Mom got better, my big brother Newman went to the vet, and didn't come home again. Mom .said he had a bad thing called cancer and the vet helped him cross the Rainbow Bridge. She said that he will be out of pain and with lots of other kitties.
I missed him so much that I got sick for a while too. The vet told Mom I was mourning Newman, and depressed. It didn't feel nice ...I miss him so much.

Then one day Mom and Dad brought me a little brother to play with!! His name is Murphy. He was just a little guy..only 3 months old, and he is orange! Mom said he didn't have a home, and was lost just like I was when they found me. Now I'm happy again!!
It's nice to have a little brother to play with!!

I'm back!

I have been a busy kitty and haven't been able to write in my diary. But I am back now. A month or so ago I got very, very sick.. I ran a terrible fever of 105.6, and felt sooo bad. Mom rushed me to the vet and they kept me there for 3 days with a nasty IV in my front leg. I missed Mom and Dad so much. The nice vet said it was a virus of unknown origin that is very commom for cats to get. I got lots of antibiotics in my IV so I didn't end up with a secondary bacterial infection while the virus ran its course.
When Mom came to take me home, I was just beside myself! I wouldn't let Mom out of my sight for a minute! I followed her everywhere she went, and sat in her lap whenever she sat down, and laid next to her on the couch or bed with my head sharing her pillow, and put my face right next to her cheek and snuggled me up to her. I sure missed that when I was alone at the vet getting well.
But I feel much better now. The vet said I am all recovered, and I now weigh 7 pounds!
I am back to my old self and getting into mischief again.

Mom is sitting at the computer, so I will sit right on the table next to her arm and try and catch the cursor as it moves! Mom says I shouldn't do that cause I stand on the keyboard..What's a keyboard? Mom told me to get down, so now I am going to walk across the fireplace mantel. I'm careful that I don't knock anything down cause Mom would not be happy. When I'm done, I'm going to peek out of the blinds and see whats going on outside. Mom has never let me outside since she found me wandering and I don't really want to ever go out there again!! It was not nice having to fend for myself outside, so staying in and just looking out the door or window is purfectly fine with me!! Mom has lots and lots of toys to keep me occupied, and Dad made me my own special playhouse!! I love to play in it and on it! Mom plays with me with a eep laser light and I will chase it as fast as I can forever! Mom says its good cause it makes me tired and I will sleep at night.
I like to play in my water bowl too! I like to stick my paws as far in it as I can, and slap the water! FUN. Sometimes I like to turn the bowl over and scoot it around the floor. For some reason Mom is not always happy when I do that cause she has to clean up all the water, but I think it's great fun!!
Well, time for me to get in the chair next to Mom and take a nap while she is on the computer. I guess I've had enough fun for a little while.
