Arrival Story:
Chance was brought in with his 3 litter mates at 2 weeks old without a mom. Their mom was later trapped, but I noticed that Chance's chest looked really weird. It curled inwards, pushed out, and his sternum caved in. I knew, that even with his mom, his chances of survival in an animal shelter with a chest deformity were very slim. I talked it over with the shelter veterinarian and she agreed with me that he would do better outside of the shelter and on a bottle, than in the shelter with his mom due to his increased susceptibility. His "malformation" later was given the name of Flat-Chested Kitten Syndrome couple with Pectus Excavatum. Chance was named such because he truly received a second Chance the day he came into the shelter and his FCKS and PE were noticed. The PE is actually fixing itself, and Chance, so far, does not seem to have developed any adverse effects from his chest other than slightly bowed legs.

Bio:
Chance is the happiest little man I think I've ever fostered. In his time with us, he has remained thoroughly adamant that I be the only one to bathe/feed/hold him. He has to be where he can see at almost all times, otherwise he stresses out. He has got me completely wrapped around his little claw, and I'm just so very happy that he is doing so well and fighting to stay alive against all odds.
