Hiding and sneaking up on her mommy. Playing with Joopy.

When anyone comes near her. SHE comes to YOU (if she wants!)

Favorite Toy:
Anything on a string, or with feathers.

Favorite Nap Spot:
on my bed, near the heater.

Favorite Food:
Science Diet dry and wet kitten food. In the middle of switching them to Wellness. And they get Kitty McDonalds (Fancy Feast) every once in a while as a treat.

Hiding, sneaking around, and squeaking. I know squeaking doesnt sound like a special skill, but it makes me laugh every time lol.

Arrival Story:
We went to the shelter planning on getting one kitten, which we have been planning to get for a long time. When we were told that kittens do better in pairs, we didn't hesitate to pick two. Boo was in a cage at the shelter along with a very friendly calico cat. Boo was noticeably scared and stressed. We immediately picked Joop from another cage, and asked if we could seperate Boo and the calico. Without mentioning which cat we wanted, they started talking about who they could put Boo with when we take the calico. She is moody and stressed, so they were worried about who she would get along with. I said "no no no! we want the shy black one!" They couldn't believe it, but my heart when out to her when we visited that cage. I know the calico kitten will get adopted soon. They told me that Boo probably would not. Most people don't look for shy scared cats. Besides, she is all black, and supposedly black cats are the least likely to get adopted. But the other cat we were adopting, Joop, was very playful and friendly, so I thought it would be good to have two cats with two very different personalities. Joop sleeps in bed with us, and Boo sleeps under the bed. Two cats in the bed and walking on the computer keyboard would be a bit much! We are very happy with our decision to adopt Boo. We love her and we are giving her a lot of time and space to get comfortable and start trusting us and our environment.

There wasn't much history for Boo. She was probably in an abused home, based on her current behaviors. She is in good health, other than the stress. She's coming around though! She has a good appetite and is now letting me pet her :) UPDATE: She's a total mama's girl! She has adjusted well. Doesn't like to be picked up or anything, but loves to be petted and fits right in with us. She and Joopy are best friends now!

My! I have come a long way since I was adopted! At first, I was very very shy and nervous. When my new parents first brought me home, I ate a meal and quickly retreated under the bed. I was a total recluse the first day. I was too scared to come out. I only came out at nighttime when my parents were sleeping, but not for long.

On my second day, I remained under the bed most of the time. My parents were home allllll day so I didn't want to take my chances of being hurt. There was another kitty there, too, but we steered clear of each other. She isn't shy at all; she plays with the humans. She even sleeps in bed with them! I was so scared that I hissed at my new mommy when she looked at me under the bed. They left me alone the rest of the day.

On the third day, I decided to be a bit brave. It didn't look like the other kitty was being hurt. In fact, she looked like she was having a blast! I was jealous, so I decided to test the waters. I came out from under the bed and ran into the closet. My mommy found me in there and was talking to me. I kept my guard up. She got a toy and tried to play with me. I was tempted, but scared. I must say though, at that point I was getting comfortable coming out to eat, drink, and use the litter box. No one was bothering me when I did that. This day was the first time I interacted with the other kitty, Joop. She was being very playful, and she pounced on me. It scared me, but I knew she was trying to be my friend. By the end of the day, I was warming up to her and my mommy. Daddy went to work. I still wouldn't get to close to mommy, but I would sit and watch her play with Joopy. She came over to me with a toy on a string and I played with it a little. I don't go under the bed much anymore, I mostly lay in the cat carrier if I'm scared. Nobody bothers me when I'm in there, so I feel safe.

Today is the fourth day, and I'm really starting to get comfortable around here! I don't see my parents hurting Joopy, and she seems to be having a great time. I want to play, too! I was brave today and I played with Joopy and my mommy quite a bit. Joopy and I are really bonding, I love her! I let my mommy pet me today and it felt goooooooood! Now I want her to pet me all the time. I love it here, the food is good and the fun never stops! I am still a bit guarded, but as I said before, I just go in my cat carrier if I get nervous. I hope I bond with my daddy soon...but he's been at work a lot so I haven't gotten much of a chance :(
