Arrival Story:
Two days before Christmas, my husband and I were in the checkout line at the grocery store when two kids came up to us with a tiny blue-eyed white kitten. The girl said, "My mother told us that if we didn't get rid of this cat, she would throw it on the side of the road or ask my uncle to shoot it." We are already at least two cats beyond our self-imposed limit of three, but under the circumstances, what could we do? Obviously, we took her. The little girl was so thrilled that she grabbed me and hugged me (I was taken aback and quite surprised!) Noelle had her first vet visit on Christmas Eve and the vet said she is about 8 weeks old. I thought she was much younger because she's so small. She tested negative for FeLK and FIV ~ thank goodness! However, she is covered with fleas and has worms, both of which are being treated. The vet also said that she has experienced starvation because of her distended stomach and stunted growth. I can't picture people who would throw her on the side of the road or shoot her going to the store and buying Kitten Chow.

Bio:
Noelle is the sweetest, most loving kitten imaginable ~ especially so considering where she came from and how she was discounted and expendable. She purrs constantly and loudly, especially when picked up and loved. Noelle was initially up for adoption, but as soon as we had a serious inquiry, my husband decided that he couldn't part with her. I do apologize to the sweet girl who wanted to adopt her. She was a genuine cat person and would have made a PAW-some Mom to Noelle .... so we are keeping her.
