Arrival Story:
Pietro was so tiny and so sweet. I saw him and thought that he was too small to be in a shelter. He needed to be in the warmth of a home and loving arms. I knew I had space, time and the resources to give him a home. I had gone through a massive rehoming and though I told myself no more I knew I was not being honest with myself. I knew he was not healthy and I knew a kitty his size didn't have a good prognosis at the shelter. He was not thriving there and in fact looked depressed. He missed his siblings but they had been adopted together without him. So I told them to hold him and let me have a think about it. Well you can see how that ended. He is home.

Pietro was living with an elderly lady who obviously could not care for her cats anymore. Then she died and relatives took them and placed them in a shelter. They were in pitiful condition. Ear mites, worms, parasites, fleas...you name it and they had it on them or in them.

I was a very sick boy

I had silent pneumonia and yeast in my ears. Mommy could not tell what was wrong with me because nothing showed on the outside. I was not sneezing. I was not making noises like sniffles. The doctor did not know at first either.
I did not eat anymore. I did not like food. Nobody knew it was because I could not smell it and I felt so yucky.
I am on my way now but I got to take some horrible medicine. This medicine tastes really bad. Then Mommy has to put drops in my ears.
Mommy was very scared that I had FIP.
I don't have FIP.
I was very close to not making it. The doctor was not so sure. She could not take blood because she said the stress could make me die. Mommy said not to take my blood. I did not grow or gain weight either. Mommy said this was not a good sign.
I took some bites of food. Then more.
The medicine WORKED!
Mommy is going to watch me to make sure I keep it up.
Thank you all of my furiends here. Your purrrs made me start to feel better.
