Well today I was a DDP! First time this year! Over a silly mouse!
Oh well, you gotta take what you get...MOL!
Thanks to all my furry pals for the comments, messages, pictures and prezzies!

This morning when meowmy got up, the first thing she did was check on the set traps...negative. OMC! She thought that silly mouse was going to set up shop in our den someplace...she saw that we were very interested in another part of the livingroom, so she got out some extra traps that she was going to set in that area, out of our reach of course...

Well she took that robber dog-guy for his daily stroll, ate breakfast and did some things on the computer. In otherwords...dawdled!
When she was going to get the traps ready, she thought she would first go and see where she would put them.

I was in my cozy nest, resting with Pipo and meowmy just smiled at us and said, guys why can't you clean up after yourselves...because there were lots of toy mousies all over the floor and we sure like to tear them up, so some of them were quite tattered looking.

Suddenly meowmy shrieked so loud we both jumped!
Mousie...the real one from yesterday was lying in the middle of that toy mousie pile, just like one of them! MOL! MOL!

April Fool, meowmy! Its a real live dead one...how about that!
She about fainted I think, because she just stood there for a moment...this mouse dude was not a mess or chewed on or anything...and no bait out to cause a sudden death in our presence...
One of us had snagged it when it decided to go exploring...or whatever mice do...Meowmy thinks Pipo probably got it, because he was more interested in stalking where he heard all the rustling noises it was making!

Anyways, meowmy let us have a final sniff of mousie, then she took it out for a mouse funeral...
It has been identified as a deer mouse.
And that is the end of the mouse-tory!

Concats on your DDP! the mousie story is sooo very exciting. I'm glad you and Pipo (and the dog guy)got to investigate and play with a real mousie. they are so very interesting (and tasty too).

Meowmy also was intrigued by the beauty of this poor little mouse dude, who obviously made a wrong turn from his outdoor life into our den...You almost think of him holding something in his teeny paws, or twitching those long whiskers. Not a dull grey like an ordinary house mouse, but a pretty critter, as designed by God.
When she took it outside for its 'funeral', she had to work hard to keep dog-guy away, he wanted to snatch it from her...
What she really wanted to do was to have live trapped it and released it back outside...but it was not to be.

OMC, the thought of your Mommy cleaning up all your mousies and coming upon a real live dead mouse (MOL)! What if she had picked it up with her bare hands? OMC, I think we would hear the screams in Kentucky! MOL!

Her screech was loud enough as it was...she picked up the little guy with a disposable glove...never know what kind of yucks might have been living on/in it...probably a good thing that we didn't like it once it stopped moving...

Oh, poor little deer mouse. Wow, those are some images! I've actually caught a couple mice that found their way into our house, which was a little disturbing to Mom. Mousies are kinda cute, but still annoying little buggers if they're in your house. Congrats on your DDP!

Mommy says, poor little mousie! My mommy would have wanted to live trap and release it too. How kind of your mommy to give it a funeral and bury it! I know you and Pipo had other plans for your new toy. My mommy stepped on a real live dead mousie once. Her kitties Pete and Jennifer left it on the kitchen floor during the night and mommy stepped on it first thing in the morning. Mommy screamed and almost fainted and even after scrubbing & washing it, her foot tingled all day. Silly mommies to be so scared of mousies! :))
