Arrival Story:
Boots was a rescue from the pound in Atlanta,Ga. My then girlfriend wanted to get a dog but, being I was a cat person I persuaded her to at least look at the cats/kittens that were available for adoption. It didn't take long before she spotted four little tabby kittens and with in seconds she had picked out two of them. Of course we had to wait the customary 24 hours before being able to officially adopt them. We were at the pound bright and early the next morning ready to take our babies to their new home. How ever, we found out that one of the kittens that she had chosen the previous day had already been adopted by someone else. So, we choose to take the two that were left. At the age of six weeks old they couldn't have been any cuter and we couldn't have been happier kitty parents. Sense my then girlfriend had never had cats she soon feel into the trap that most cat parents do. She SPOILED them rotten.... By the end of the first week Boots (so named because he has four white mitted feet) became the ultimate fish lover! Which meant that the trips to the grocery store became a daily ritual. Not that I minded it at all, in fact, I was glad to see that she was so in love with them that she she would have fallen that hard that fast. Boots is quite the nosy fellow....he's the real poster child for curiosity killed the cat! It doesn't matter what you're doing he's got to be right in the middle of it at all times. He's very creative when it comes to getting what he wants....and he does get what he wants in the end. He's the type of cat that believes that no means yes and yes means yes! He's a happy go lucky cat and is always doing things to make you laugh. Just the other day I was told that he chased the vacuum cleaner up and down the hallway trying to catch the cord as it moved.... this is the same cat will jump out of skin if he see's his own shadow on the wall! Boots is just a real love machine at heart. He has been know to creep in the bed and rub his whiskers across your cheek or, uses his paw to lightly pat you on the cheek until you wake up and make room for him to lay down or just be petted. He likes to sleep in places that are close to the ceiling. One morning I found him sleeping in side a cereal box on top of the fridge with just his head sticking out the top. One day his curiosity really got the better of him... I was putting the meat in side the fridge while I put the rest of the groceries away. Well, to say the least Boots had crawled inside the fridge and hid himself in the very back. I didn't know he was in there and I closed the door with him still inside it. A few minutes later I kept hearing mewing. I looked every where but couldn't find the cat that was making the sound. I just happened to walk by the fridge and heard the mewing again. I opened the door to find Boots sitting on the bottom shelf with a chicken leg in his mouth! He didn't even bother to get out of the fridge at all...that would have meant giving up the chicken leg and he wasn't about to do that or so he thought. I just shook my head, picked him up, took away the chicken and put him on the floor with a pat on the head. Of course what he really wanted was just to have the door open while he helped him self to his newly found feast of chicken. Boots wasn't hurt in any way but, we now search the fridge before we close it. He still climbs in the fridge every chance he gets. Boots by any means would be considered the class clown! The cat sitter loves him and she has a saying "Every paw counts". At first I had no idea why she was saying that. So I asked. That's when she told me some of the stories of how Boots would always try to "help" her with what ever it was she was doing at the time. It didn't matter what the job or chore was he would be right there to lend a paw. That made me realize just how lucky I was to have not only Boots and his throw caution to the wind way of doing things. But, to have a setter that not only loves my cats but sees them as family and treats them as if they were her children.

Boots lives in Columbus,Ga with his housemates and beloved sitter.

There is an empty place in our house today as well as in our hearts. Hans was our house mate and our friend and I miss him very much.

I told him by by after I saw mom put him in a box all wrapped nice and tight wif one of his snuggle blankies. Mom doesn't know it but I put the mouse that we use to play wif together in there wif him.

I just want to say that we love and miss you Hans, sleep well and be at peace.

Today's the big day when mom "the sitter" will start putting all the decorations on the tree. I can't wait to get my paws on them! I love the hollydays......they are my most favorite time of the year. Mom bakes up lots of really good smelling stuff and she lets me help. She says that she is gonna make us some cookies and let us put our paws in the dough... she says that after they are baked up she will put our names on them and then hang them on the tree as ornaments for us and our daddy. How cool is that!!!

Look out tree, cause I'm ready to have my way with you this year!

Purrs and mews to everyone.

Wow, I can't believe that it's almost Christmas. We just had Thanksgiving and the turkey was fabulous this year. Our mom "the sitter" came over and helped daddy with the turkey....he had a lot of pictures to edit from the time he went to the race in Homestead Fla. I tried to help daddy but, he didn't like the way I was doing it. So I just lay in his lap and watched him. That made my daddy very happy.

It's hard to believe that me and my sister have been living here with daddy now for over a year.... we did live with our mom in Atlanta for a long time until she got married and had to move away to be with her husband in a far away place. That made me real sad cause I didn't want my mom to go away. When we came to live with dad it was very scary. We had never left our mom or our house sense we were kittens.

It was just a week before Thanksgiving last year when daddy brought me and my sister to his house to live. I was so scared and so afraid and I missed my mom and our house that all I could do was hide and hope that mom would come and get us and take us home real soon.

Dad explained to us that we would be living with him and that a real nice lady would be coming by to take care of us when he wasn't here.
It took a while for me to get use to my new home and to the lady. But, now I am one happy kitty and I love my daddy and my sitter.
