Long time no talk

Oh my cat, Catsters, it's been so long since Mom has done my typing for me. I sent away to China for a pair of artificial thumbs so I could do it myself. I saw them advertised on a late night infomercial but something tells me it's a scam, since I ordered them a few years ago and they've never arrived.

Anyway, the big event in my life was that I had my teeth cleaned for the first time in my life. They love me so much at the vet that they decided to keep a piece of me as a souvenir - a tooth! Yes, I had to have a crownectomy because the roots had been resorbed. As there had been no change in my eating habits or any other type of behavior, mom had no idea that something was not right. Well, fortunately it was not a front tooth, so the removal will not affect my modeling career. The worst part of it all, as you cats know, is that I didn't get any breakfast that morning, and that just doesn't cut it with me.

In other dental news, the husband lost a tooth as well, and he's very unhappy about it. In his case, it is a front tooth. He broke it when he was a little kid and after all these years, it started giving him problems. He will have an implant, but in the meantime he has a big empty space there, which makes him look like a character out of "Deliverance." He refuses to let mom look at him without his temporary fake tooth in. It shouldn't affect his modeling career, either, since he never had one in the first place.

Mom just wrote a story about pet-friendly interior design for her magazine, and she used a lot of examples of what my sisfurs and I have done to make the house more attractive. Like the time I inscribed contemporary art on the husband's new desk, the many times I've fluffed the nap on the living room chair with my claws, and the time Diva voted against an area rug by pooping on it. The rug will now be a wall hanging.

What kind of decorating have you done?

Hi Monster, My brother took a dislike to a rug in our house. He peed on it lot's of times. Even though the human tried to clean it he would attack it again and again. She ended up throwing it outside. AND yes he did get a trip to the vets out of it much to his disgust . I think he just didn't like the rug or he wanted outside (the rug is brown with a leafy pattern). We have been house bound for months now.
Bad luck with your toofies I hope everyone is all better.

Wow, lots of teeth issues at your house!
I did a deal of decorating by chewing on the toilet handle and a cabinet.
Callie pees on any area rugs that are brought in the house (so no area rugs for us!)
Rose hasn't done any decorating, unless you count the fuzzy fur she leaves behind on the couch.

Area rugs are an acquired taste. Some of them are just plain ugly. Humans! I'm into decorating with paper. I rip little pieces out of any available paper (or cardboard, but that takes longer) and I leave it all over the house. It gives the place that well lived in feeling. And makes Mom say to visitors: I am sorry, I haven't got my vacuuming done yet. MOL

Hmmm, I'm thinking here......
The vet kept your tooth and the husband is missing a tooth. Could the husband's vet take the tooth that your vet kept and implant it in the open space in the husband's mouth? Makes purrfect sense to me.
As far as decorating, I like to rub against the off-white walls and leave dark spots. Looks better that way. Off-white is boring.

My sisfur and I like clawing rugs and the bottom parts of couches, where we go upside-down under the edge and use our claws to drag our bodies along it. We do this even worse with my Mom's bed! Goodness knows how many tufts of rug yarn there were that had to be vacuumed up: worse than a thousand hairballs, only much more comfortable to step on. There are some carpeted stairs that have been clawed so many times they look less like carpet than felt. Our main cat tree's carpet is almost ripped bare, but then being clawed is one thing cat trees are for.
P.S. Paddle faster, I hear banjo music . . . *giggles*

Hi Monster Hope you are fully recovered from your missing breakfast. I have remodelled the laundry basket, snapping off little twigs of the wicker to create a contemporary textured feel and have also stripped some of the wallpaper to give it a more interesting finish. Cats are good interior designers. We know what looks good! Purrs Toby

Oh Poor Monster they STOLE your tooth...

I like redecorating. Well I guess gardening, I like to trim and cut back moms plants she has around the house. Meiko and I LOVE to rip the leafs right off. Mom finds leafs everywhere... good times.

Meiko likes to rewire anything he can, he is a electrician. If your pawrents need one he works for treats and nip...

Monster! So glad to read ur post and know u r doing well. My vet said I might need a tooth extraction and while mom won't tell me what that big word means I know what the word tooth means and it is not sounding very fun, or cheap. Now that we moved, mom picked a new vet and will get a second opinion at the next visit. Mom went to three local vets and found one she really liked. They are open on Sundays and they have five vets in one building! Mom likes that in case the vet needs multiple opinions. Anyway, I don't have any opinions about decorating since all I care about are cat condos. Maybe Lindsay will have something to say. After all, she is the boss around here. Purrs.

Got that right Sebastion that I'm the boss! I even stare down the new dog, Chloe, in the house. Mom calls me a bully, but she needs to remember I came first! As for decorating, mom's friend collects antiques and he gave mom an antique table with wooden legs and a marble top. It is on the porch and I'm sitting on it right now watching the birds. I luv it cuz it is wicked cool. (Wicked meaning very for u non-Bostonions out there!). That's my recommendation, something that the humans would pay big bucks for but can keep cats cool, and looking cool, in the summer! Meow.

Monster, mom just posted a beautiful pic of me on the marble table, but the silly human somehow uploaded it upside down! Anyway, check me out everyone cuz I am beautiful no matter what!
