Furriends, mom needs your help again. She's diving right into her next story for her magazine, and it's all about a problem kitties don't like to talk about - the LITTER BOX.
Leave A Comment | 11 people already have Nopes! Sorry buddy, I'm a master pooper in my box! I construct amazing architectural towers over my poopies and I never miss the box! The only time I've EVER done anything outside the box was when I developed the crystals, I peed on daddy's laptop bag (no laptop though! Phew!) so that they would know something was wrong. Worked really well, they took me right to the vets cause they KNEW something was off because I'm an AMAZING pooper! hehehe! MOL, I just like the hardy har har. MOL I am also a pooper extraordinaire. My sister, Rachael who is no longer on Catster and I have issues about ours when it's not CLEAN. Therefore, use the newspaper underneath instead to do our business. Then paw the door to cover it up, mol! Which the Family find quite strange. If that counts? Other than that we don't complain much about it and use as and when we have too. Just now, like in the Spring when it's warmer here in the UK. We spend alot more time outdoors. So, it's very rarley used during the day apart from when we're house bound at night.................. I don't got an issue with my box - it are ok, but sometimes there are much more interesting places to leave my stink! We just wanted to say hi, too! No poop problems with us. Except we wish Fearless would use the box out in the cattery instead of digging little holes in the ground around the perimeter... Hey!!! Do I talk about your personal stuff??? Anyway, I sometimes use the box indoors, too, but if I'm in the cattery I like to pretend I'm a wild cat again - rooowwwrrr! My brother Albie has litter box issues...he urinates on our dining room carpet! We've been told he has cystitis, but even when that is under control he continues the bad habits he has picked up while being sick...we've tried a lot of different tips and he continues to do it! I had, ummmm, I mean a "friend" had some litter box issues. Turns out that she, a beautiful blue eyed snowshoe girl, had really bad allergies that also caused me, I mean "her", to have constipation. It sure stunk (literally and figuratively!). When her bottom hurt, she stopped using the litter box! Instead, she found soft places like a towel under the bed and the kitty tent. Luckily, with some help from the vet (including laser treatments to help her sore little bottom!) and changes in kitty litter and box location, all is well! If you need any help, I'm sure I could connect you with my, I mean HER, mommy :) I am a mancat and Tiny is too some times I gotta mark my spots to let him know who the top man cat is. Tiny is secure in who he is and so has no marking issues but me well.................mom as has changed all the nice drapes in to cheap curtains that she can put in the washer. The only time I do not use the box is when I feel the need to spray the curtains or the patio door. I do seem to re act to changes in the hosuehold like when we added Ivey to the family or back when Alley went to the bridge and now that Boo has gone to the bridge and if mom and dad are on vacations..............no non illness just a need to mark the area. oh sorry we meant to say "no known illnes" You know I have serious litter box issues... and while it may be embarrassing to meow about it may help other kitties come forward. My biggest issue is when I poop it doesn't all go in the litter box. When I turn around to cover it one last bit comes out which mom calls a nub. We can't seem to figure out if it gets stuck to my medium haired fur - which mom has tried to trim - or if I just leave the box too soon to cover. I didn't have this problem as a kitten, and the vet said no medical issues. I think part of the problem is big sister Lindsay taught me this great trick...she balances with all four paws on the thin edge of the box, which is quite the sight, so now I do that too! Maybe I'm not as good at balancing and can't hold that position long enough? Mom thinks someone should invent a litterbox with a wider edge for cats like us! She's thought about putting a piece of wood to make a wider edge, but our bathroom is so small. She calls me her 300 thousand dollar cat since we need to move to a house with a basement or a second bathroom to put my box in. Sigh. I'm very lucky to have such a caring mom cuz a lot of people could be mean to a cat like me... |
