that I come out of my kennel! Mom's been leaving the kennel door open all the time now but she leaves the baby gate to the room closed to keep the dogs out. They like to eat out of the litter box in my kennel and they eat all my food. So, mom keeps the gate closed so they can't do that.

But, see, I do come out of my kennel. Mom posted pics for me to show everyone. I still make a mad dash for it if I think mom might step on me. I'm still skittish but mom is patient. She doesn't push it. She tries to walk up to me slowly but a lot of the time, I still run for the kennel. If mom sits on the floor and motions for me to come, I usually come to her. I love to be pet. I purr and purr and purr. I'm not too keen on the other furbutts getting close to me and I hiss at them once in awhile but I'm getting better about that too.

Things are going pretty good otherwise. Mom put some floor scratchers down for me and a turbo chaser thing with the blinking light ball. I watch the other furbutts mess around with that stuff but I haven't tried any of it yet. Mom wonders if I'll ever get to that stage. I'm a feral kitty and there's no telling how things will turn out. Just have to wait and see. All I know is that I'm living the good life compared to life outdoors. Mom thinks she did the right thing in bringing me in and she has no regrets. She loves me.

Oh Honey...of course your mommy did the right thing...but then how could anyone resist a Tortie? I have been with my mommy for over a year and I am still skiddish. I do not remember being a kitten before mommy...but when mommy got me I was real sick. I am not a real cuddly cat...maybe Tortie's aren't supposed to be...but I will take loving on "my terms". Mommy thinks that life for me, before her, must have been horrible as she cannot account for my "tude" any other way. Mommy has always loved me on my terms, patted me on my terms...and accepted me on my terms. Even if you do not end up being the "LOVER of lovers" tell mommy that your a Tortie and that Torties are supposed to have a "tude". Sure sound like you have a wonderful home though...take a chance!
