Arrival Story:
Munchkin is the offspring of one of the feral cats who was in the neighborhood when we moved to our current location. ("Mama Cat," as she was called, has since passed on.) Mama Cat hung out at the house across the street. There were two litters born at the same time: one from Mama Cat, and one from one of her earlier daughters. We had told the lady that we would adopt one of the kittens, and we had chosen Munchkin. She was not old enough yet, so we waited for her 8-week birthday. We had a dog at the time, who was aging, and sadly our dog died just 3 days before we were due to bring in the kitten. When we went to collect the kitten, my husband noticed one from the other litter, and fell instantly in love with her, so we took both! The other one was, then, Munchkin's half-sister... AND her aunt! Yikes! Family tree with only 1 branch! Soot was coal black, and had a stub tail.

Bio:
Munchkin began as a small kitty...and we nearly named her 'Gizmo' after the Gremilins movie, as she was all eyes. Mama Cat was very tiny, and Munchie and her sister Soot were small as well. That is, until they discovered the food bowls! Oh, my goodness! How on earth to you keep 2 of 4 cats on a diet in an open-plan house!?!? Munchkin now weighs almost as much as Tigger, who is by rights, just a big cat, and not really overweight. She still has a tiny head, though, so I call her 'tiny cat' sometimes anyway, for the irony of it all.
