Arrival Story:
One of our clients in San Francisco (where we lived at the time) worked at the SPCA. One day, a lady came in with a large litter (13!) in a box, and proudly announced, as if she was doing them a favor, "I've got 13 nice little kittens for you!" They took them in, but after the lady left, it being 'kitten season,' the comment was made that they did not have room, and that the whole lot would be euthanized. Our client was horrified, said, "NO! You WON'T! I'LL take them, and I'LL find homes for them!" (And he did!) He and his room mate kept one, we got Tigger, and my daughter and her family took another. They all got loving homes.

Tigger is the largest cat of the lot, and the biggest wuss! When we introduced Munchkin, she was a teeny kitten...and Tigger tried to make himself invisible under a rocking chair, and hissed at her. He does not like new additions. Eventually, though, he accepted her, and they are now 'best buddies.' We went through the same hissy-fit process a year ago February, when Jigsaw Puzzle arrived...and the two of them still have it out...Jiggy chases Tigger, pounces on him, and harrasses him mercilessly. Tigger does not understand that if he does not run, he cannot be chased. He further fails to understand that he is (a) the bigger cat, and (b) has seniority! I love my orange furball anyway. He is really MY cat... He is the orange maramalade cat I have always wanted since childhood, when I read several books in the series, "Orlando the Marmalade Cat..." (Goes Camping, Buys a Farm, etc). Tigger's long coat must be brushed weekly, (and he doesn't much care for the process..I have to chase/follow him around with the brush). Even with grooming, his fluffy coat tends to make him look as if he's been combed with a balloon!
