Arrival Story:
Cleo was rescued and fostered by The Cat People in Bakersfield. After I lost my sweetie, Sammy, I adopted her from them at 6 weeks old. She is very different from Sammy, but just as sweet and I love her as much. Even Zack likes her.

Cleo was found with her two brothers at a high school when they were tiny, so they were brought to the Cat People. When I was holding them at the shelter she was the only one that didn't freak out and run away or dig her claws in when the vacuum cleaner started up. I new right then she was for me. Cleo hates to be locked out of a room if you're in it. She sits at the door and howls until she's let in. She also thinks she's part dog. She sits on a chair with just her eyes and ears showing over the table top, begging for whatever meat you happen to be eating.

My Life

Very Merry Christmas everyone! Santa brought Dad a brother for us. He said he needed help and thought we could handle it. I sure hope so. Nala needs someone her own size to wrestle with. She's such a big lug. Mom says I'm jealous. I'm not jealous, just hungry. She eats everything! And now she's diary of the day. Impossible to live with now. Oh well, I do kinda like her and I can out run her if I really want to anyway.

Gotta go now. THere's fuzzy mice to kill.

Have a great Christmas and a very happy new year!

Nala has been picking on me a lot lately about a little incident with some string a while back so I might as well tell before she does.

It all began with new carpet. The nice men left us some pieces to place in front of the doors and they had strings hanging off of them. Well, being a cat I just had to attack the strings and see just how much carpet fiber I could pull apart. I guess I did a pretty good job because some of it went through me.

One day I was climbing out of the cat box and this long string with something attached at the end followed me. Well, I thought it was poo come to life and it was trying to get me so I ran out of there as fast as I could... I ran all over the house both upstairs and down. The next thing I knew, Nala was chasing the monster that was chasing me and mom was chasing us all because she didn't know why I was so scared. When I finally stopped all I could do was hide in a corner with the monster still attached. I was so scared I wouldn't move. Mom found me and just started laughing. I couldn't believe my ears. Here I was, about to be killed, and she is laughing. Well, as it turns out, that carpet fiber doesn't digest and it got all tangled up in my poo but when it came out there was a big long piece that wasn't tangled but dangled! Of course, the laugh was on mom because she had to pull it out. Ha ha! No more carpet fiber for me!

Beautiful House

Our house is beautiful now. We got water all over our carpet so the whole house has been repainted and carpeted. I feel like we moved! Mom said to leave our hairballs on the tile and our pee in the box. Well, I never leave pee anywhere except the box unles we get locked in a room for the weekend by accident.

That Nala did leave a hairball in the living room but Mom caught it before it dried (whew!) About Nala, I am starting to like her. We wrestle like maniacs in the evenings. Sometimes I cry and sometimes she does. It is so fun!

Anyway, life is good and we are all very happy healthy cats and dogs.
