This is the best game ever! Mom went to the basement and brought up the game pieces. Big rolls of paper and spools of ribbon, and tape and some boxes, and some little cards. She wasn't very clear on the rules, but this is how I think they go:
Mom goes into another room and gets something (usually boring, like a shirt or a pair of gloves) and puts it in a box with some tissue. That's the first part of the game -- jumping on the tissue. It makes a wonderful crinkling sound. At that point, Mom puts you on the floor.
Second part: Mom takes one of the paper rolls, rolls it out and puts the box on the paper, and then rolls the paper around the box. You have two options here. You can jump on the box, timing it just right so that Mom rolls the paper over you, in which case she laughs and puts you on the floor again, or you can grab for the paper roll and rake your claws through it, tearing long rips just as Mom rolls it over the box. If you do the first, you get put on the floor again. If you do the second, you get put in another room, and you're out. G'bye, Bear.
The third part is a trick. Be careful. Mom folds up the paper around the box and fixes it in place with tape. I grabbed for the tape and ended up with a piece of it stuck to my paw. I rolled all over the dining room table trying to shake it off or bite it off, while Mom laughed and laughed. Don't fall for that.
Part four is the best. Mom selects a spool of ribbon and unfurls a long piece, wrapping it around the box. Whoo-hoo! Ribbon! She's trying to tie a knot and I'm chewing on the ribbon. She cuts me a length and throws it to me to play with, but I'm having none of that. That ribbon is inanimate. The real stuff is in her hands. She starts folding it up in little circles and I'm grabbing and pawing and purring and having a GREAT time. She tries doing it over her head, and I stand up on my hind feet, put my paws on her chest and swipe at it. I'm winning this part big time!
Or not. Suddenly I'm on the other side of the door with Bear. This is a really dumb game.
After a long time, the door opened. The paper and ribbons and tape and little cards were all gone. What the heck? We looked around and suddenly Bear gave me a *mrowr* signal. A whole bunch of boxes were in the living room, under the tree.
Bear looked at me, and I looked at him.
Let the game, Part 5, begin!

MOL! Be sure to let us know how Part 5 goes!
Are you kidding me! I messed this up big time. I ran when the big roll of paper came out, Mom tried getting me to smell the paper but I was to scared of the size and noise. I didn't know it was harmless. Mom has a few more gifts to rap.....I'll try to get my courage up and play the game.
I used to play that game when I was younger. Now, I mostly supervise. Don't forget the bags stuff comes in. They are fun!
I want to hear about Part 5 too heheee
