The results came back from my blood tests today. My thyroid level is right where the vet wants it to be, my blood glucose is fine and my creatinine, BUN and urine tests were unchanged from the last test (mildly high BUN, moderately dilute urine and high normal creatinine). The vet said the amylase level was a little elevated, which could suggest pancreatitis, but it wasn't high enough to be definitive on that.
So I have to go back and let them steal some more blood, to check pancreatic enzymes, B-12 and folate. I'm feeling a little better, though, so maybe I'll make them give up a little blood, too.
One thing Mom and Dad have both noticed, though, is that while I'm back to yowling (sort of softly, but still yowling) for food and eating it, I seem to have a hard time finding it. I will walk right past my dish and stick my nose in Bear's dish. If Mom puts a spoon under my nose, though, I will eat the food right off it and even bite the spoon.

Sending you purrs.
**Headbnks and purrsss***
Are they checking your eyesight, Jasper? Also make sure they check your blood pressure. Our Sugar had undiagnosed high blood pressure (when she lived with our grandma), and it caused her to go partially blind. If you look at her pictures, you'll see how dilated her eyes are - that is one sign that something could be wrong. Good luck - we're all still purring and purring for you!
Hey pal - I just wanted to let you know that when we get older, sometimes we howl (especially at night). I used to do it. There are different theories on why older cats do that, but some people think it is because we're a little senile. I think it's because we like to sing in the middle of the night! Sending healing angel dust down to you!
sending you lots and lots of purrs. Samoa and Calvin have some good suggestions!
OMC!!!~Jasper I am so sorry your going thru this and your Meowm and Dad, too!!

Samoa, that is a very good idea about the blood pressure. Mom will mention it to the vet when I go in tomorrow for blood tests.
I don't howl as much as I used to before I started getting treated for hyperthyroidism, Calvin, but Mom thinks I do it partly because I'm deaf. If I can't hear myself, I have to yell really loud to make sure the people in charge of food delivery hear me!
We sending our Purrs to you Jasper.
Hopes you feels better real soon.
Romeo is our old fart here and we loves him so, but he sometimes gets on Grammy's nerves Yowling. He yows for his foods about every 2 hours. Grammy gives him a spoonful of what he likes and he eats most of it, but sometimes he will gets down and than Meow like he's never beens feed. He also has a hard time finding it sometimes. We do know he has cataracks in both eyes. He also has been in renal failure for a few years. But all in all he's amazing. Just like you!
Try to have a great day and good lucks at the vets again.
Love you, dude! Purrs and headbonks for you and your worried family. My brother is so much like you, yowling, wondering around, hyperthyroid, early CRF. Hang in there, Jasper. We love you!
Sorry to hear you're unwell mate. I'll purr for you as long as you need it. Hope all the blood tests came back with positive news.
