On Saturday Mom has to go to another funeral, and it is the fifth one this year. But as bad as it has been for her, it has been much, much worse for her friend Meredith. Three of the funerals involved family members or close friends of Meredith, including her grandmother, a friend from college, and tomorrow her father-in-law.
Meredith has a lovely red tabby Maine Coon named Tosca. They are not on Catster, but could you send a few purrs or prayers Meredith's way, for our sake and Tosca's? Mom is a firm believer in the power of purrs and prayers.

Jasper we are sending massive purrs of comfort and love to Meredith and Tosca! Poor Meredith, mom recently lost a good friend and lifelong neighbor. It's very sad.
Love and purrs to your friend and all others feeling the pain of the season. Us too have had a rough year and Mom says 2011 and 2012 has been around way too long. Goodbye and hello to a better year!
Yep, my Dad's parents and one of their oldest neighbors/friends and most of Dad's friends all lost a furry friend. Two of Dad's co-workers lost their grandfather. Dad lost one of his gaming groups, a convention he loved to go to, his favorite online game and worst of all he lost me. There were some good things this year like the election and Daddy going from contract to full time employee. But it's really hard to counter the loss of furry friends like me.
We feel the same way. Mom lost one of her best friends this year and went to alot of viewings too. There was alot of saddness although there were so good times too.
We send purrs - we too have had many losses these past 2 years actually. Nana lost her sister just a few days after her birthday in Sept - they were very close, so it has been sad. Let us hope that 2013 will be happy healthy safe & prosperous. purrs for your mommas friend
purrs from all of us here. There were alot of lessons to be learned in 2012, but now I think it's time for a lightening of the load. We have had losses, too, but must remember that not all passings are cause for sadness. Sometimes they may mean blessed relief from pain. Wishing everyfur a happier, more prosperous New Year!
Sweet Jasper, This year has had it's share of sadness for us too, and now two of Mom's friends are very sick and one went into Hospice last week. We will start praying for Meridith, Tosca and all those who are sad and grieving at the end of this year. We hope that everyone will have some measure of peace and healing, loss of those we love is such a painful thing to go through.
We are praying. Love, Gentleman Jack and Momcat
