The Viking's Tale

Gledelig Jul!

That's how we Norwegians say Merry Christmas!

Mom says if we were really having a Norwegian Christmas, she would have spent a couple of days making fattigman cookies and cream cakes and rommegrot with country ham for breakfast, and we'd have lutefisk, all stewed up with butter.

She says she hates lutefisk and used to smoosh it around her plate on Christmas Eve until it sort of broke down and disappeared. But it's whitefish, so I'm sure I'd find it delicious, especially with butter!

Our family hopes that your families all have a warm and wonderful holiday, remembering your Bridge members with love and thinking tenderly of those who, as our good friend Ka-zar says, "are doing it tough."

We're sending special wishes to the Catfather and his family.
