Never mind football season. The big deal here is when the leaves start to fall and the mousies start looking for a place to spend the winter. Of course they think a nice warm house would be just the thing, so about this time of year they start looking for any spot in the stone cellar that Mom and Dad missed in the annual mouse-proofing (or that came un-mouse-proofed over the summer).
Yesterday Vicki had one cornered in the half-bath downstairs. Mom went in with a paper towel to grab it. Of course she missed (humans are really pretty worthless at mouse hunting -- just too slow) and the mouse took advantage of the distraction to escape the bathroom.
Hah! I was waiting right outside the door. Grabbed the mouse and ran into the dining room to play some mouse soccer. Woo-hoo! Vicki and I had some great volleys for about five minutes until Mom finally managed to snag our prey with the paper towel.
Can't wait for the next one!

Excellent work Bear! That's a fun game and lots of good exercise. When I bring chipmunks inside I have the same fun, until mom can catch it. Keep up the good work:)
MOL! Good catch, Bear!
Have fun mouse hunting!
YES!! Momma always says that there best not be mousies in the house for very long, not with 4 of us. I caught a few in the yard when I am out on my leash though. Good thing you are on duty!
