On Wednesday, Vicki and I got our summer haircuts. In the nick of time, since it's in the mid-90s today and looks to be staying there for the foreseeable future.
The groomer reported that Vicki was a squirmer, but that I was perfectly docile getting my buzz cut.
And what a difference it made! I had been spending most of my days on my back under the dining room table with my paws in the air, trying to stay cool. Now I run around and jump on all the furniture and swat my favorite mylar ball around and generally have energy to burn.
Hooray for summer haircuts!

I have no idea what your talking about, Haircuts really?
Glad your getting around better due to your buzz cut.
I guess having short hair means I don't have to put up with that hair cutting stuff.
I'm just to olde fur that nonsense!
Glad I got a short coat - that noisy shaver would scare me fur sure.
Yeah, you short-haired cats have it made in the summer. But in the winter, Vicki and I are both glad of our luxurious fur coats!
Our house has no central air, though, and with the heat and the New Jersey humidity, it can get pretty ugly in the summer.
I'll tell ya, I might have shorter hair than Gris but mine is way thicker. Mom can't get over how much more fur she brushes off of me than any of my siblings, even the dog. She says she had a Russian Blue once and I don't have her fur, but it's close.
I'm sorry you don't have central air. That stinks. Maybe you can ask Santa for an air conditioned cat house. It could placed right beside the food bowl! But then everybody would want you to share, even the pawrents. MOL you could charge them...say $3. a visit.
