Vet Update

Dear Diary,

Last Wednesday I went to a new vet so I could get a second opinion on what's wrong with me. The new vet looked at the x-rays that Mommy had sent over from the other vet and he said it could be a few things and without seeing a specialist, I won't get a formal diagnosis. However, Mommy showed him the video she took of one my wheezing attacks and he did say it looked like I was having an asthma attack so Mommy is really hoping that will be the diagnosis. The vet then gave her the option to have him give me a steroid shot to see how I react and if it helps the wheezing attacks stop or to send me to a specialist. She chose to have the vet give me a steroid shot to see how I reacted before she sends me to a specialist, because specialists are furry expensive. I've been doing a lot better since the shot, knock on wood, so my furmily and I are just crossing our fingers this was the solution to my problems. I would just like to say thank you furry much to all of my furfriends who have shown me support through these health issues, I truly appreciate every one of you and means a lot to me to know you care so much. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to update you on what the vet told me, Mommy got furry busy and hasn't had a chance to give you an update. I hope you all have a pawtastic night and I'll try to update you more frequently!

Dear Diary,

Happy Valentine's Day! Today I plan on taking some naps and maybe enjoying the outside. The vet finally called my mommy to tell her that my test results from Saturday came back negative fur valley fever. They also told her they think I have cancer, but they can't formally diagnose me without more tests that can cost thousands of dollars. Mommy looked up reviews fur my vet, which is Banfield, and found out there are a lot of complaints so she decided to get a second opinion. She got a lot of recommendations fur vets from friends and she's going to call another vet today and try to make an appointment. She's very worried about me and she's really hoping I have asthma because it's easily treated.

Dear Diary,

It has been a furry long time since I've been on Catster. Mommy has been furry busy fur a while now, but she will try to update Catster at least once a week in order to keep up with furfriends. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and have had a great start to your new year! I had a good holiday and my new year was going good, but I had been having wheezing attacks for a while and they were becoming more frequent so mommy decided to take me to the vet last weekend. At first the vet thought I had asthma, but then she changed her mind. She decided to do x-rays and mommy got the results on Monday. The x-ray technician said I have lesions in my throat and it looks like I might have throat cancer. I'm going back to the vet on Saturday to have my blood drawn and to get tested fur valley fever. Mommy is furry sad and worried about me. She is hoping it's asthma or valley fever because they're both treatable. She is asking fur prayers that it's not cancer. I will update you as soon as I find out what's going on.
