The Life of a Feral Cat in the Country

Beau was crying!

I don't know why people think cats like a solitary life. All of my cats crave attention, even ferals may eventually come to you for a small amount of affection.
It was raining today. Never-the-less I put food out for the ferals at the feeding station near the end of the driveway, close to the barnyard. I have a large rubber maid tub for my feeding station, it's turned on it's side so food will stay dry.
In spite of the rain I grabbed my camera and went for a walk out to the pond behind the barn. I was coming back when I heard a cat crying. I looked up and saw Beau sitting in the loft crying his little heart out. I tried to get his picture, but he was too fast for me. I think Beau is lonely, he won't let me anywhere near and other cats stay out of his way too. He may have been crying because it was raining and he was hungry, but didn't want to stand in the rain to eat. Thinking this may be the reason I brought the food into the barn and hoped he would find it. I worry about Beau and other cats like him. He broke my heart today when I heard him crying, all alone in the barn.
