Gotcha Date: July 27th 2009 Coloration: Blue-Silver Likes: Chasing, or being chased by Amber and climbing the "kitty taj mahal". She has also discovered how to open and close the decorative shutters on our entertainment center (loudly!) Pet-Peeves: Being picked up when she doesn't want to be picked up! SHE calls the shots! She also hates shoes and the doorbell! Favorite Toy: Anything that Amber is playing with first! Favorite Nap Spot: Again, on top of the "kitty taj mahal" or on our laps Favorite Food: Seafood wet food and espeically dry food; she picks out pieces from her bowl, chases her prey around the kitchen floor until she beats it into submission, eats it, and then repeats the procedure over and over again! Skills: Wrangling dry food pieces on the kitchen floor; chasing down creepy crawlies; making really cute sounds whenever she yawns! indoors Arrival Story: Topaz came into our lives via Petfinder.com at just the right time! We barely had Amber for a month when Tootsie suddenly died on July 22, 2009. It was clear that Tootsie's passing not only affected me and my husband, but it affected poor little Amber too! I never ever thought I could get another kitty so soon after loosing BOTH of our girls (Blazer Baby died in March after our house fire), but something was telling me to go on Petfinder. I have occasionally browsed the needy kitties on Petfiinder before, and had recently seen Topaz's ad (who was named "Thunder" at the time) and was surprised to see her adorable little face still listed. I e-mailed the foster Mom, sent her my application, and I got to meet her and "Thunder" July 24, and she approved of me immediately! I wasn't sure if she would, considering we had all just gone through a lot of emotional upheaval, but it was clear to her that we would give her a wonderful, FUREVER home! On July 27, 2009 she came home with us, technically on a foster basis, until she was big enough to be spayed. I am happy to say, that as of October 28, 2009, Topaz was spayed and is a permanent fixture in our hearts...and Amber couldn't love her more!!!
