Hi Furs and Folks!
Burrrr!!! It's chilly for a guy with a fuzzy coat!
However, I'm getting better-itchy but better. Sorry we've been scarce, but Mom's been under stress, and had so little time to be able to be my secretary, let along the old grum....er, Natalies as well.
Mom was called into her Supervisor's office on Tuesday and 'let go'. She had been there 7 years. It hurt Mom, yesterday she was ill and couldn't do much. I sat on her alot and comforted her. She felt bad, but she knows, as I do, that it was much better for her.
Mom is a Substance Abuse Counselor and she worked at a Foster Care Agency. She truly liked helping people, and did her best. She's a really kind being for a human, and I'm no so sure she or dad really are human-maybe just funny looking cats. Mom was given a bad evaluation, and after 7 years she never had a bad evaluation. Dad thinks they are giving people who have been there awhile the boot because they are trying to save on benefits....they cut moms the day after she left. Dad and Mom's sister are looking into this for her.
But you know what? You know what? IT IS SO NICE TO HAVE MOM HERE ALL DAY WITH US!!!! I mean, she has school and all, but she IS HOME WITH US NOW FOR AWHILE!!! YAY!!!!
I'm happy, too, because now Mom can relax and just be-they were being very mean. I told Mom that lots of Catster Mommies and Daddies have had this happen, and Mom's a smart Mom, and going to be just fine. She already filed for unemployment and is doing homework, so she's doing a bit better today.
As for me....I'm getting better by the day. Enjoying a nice warm bed with a comforter on it with the rest of the Clowder, having lovely meals, and getting special baths by my Admirer Rachel at the Vet once a week. I don't much like the baths, but I like Rachel, so it could be worse, and it's actually nice to have someone make much of me, as you well know.
Dad says that when he sees me with my short fuzzy coat, he Knows I have lived with him in a lifetime many years ago, and now I look as I did then...all I need is an Ankh around my neck. Mom says that I am looking happier by the day, and handsome, though I miss my warm fur.
I wish all of you wonderful days ahead....do any of you and your folks...do you or your folks have dreams and memories of you together in another time?
I wish you all warm and sunny days ahead...it's great...yes, great....to be back.
love and light,
Yours-with coat or without,

Sorry to hear about your mom losing her job (purring for her) but happy to hear you all get to see more of her and she will have less stress!
Hilda and family
Sometimes what looks like something bad can actually be a blessing. we wish this for your mom! my mom still works part time too and we miss her. lots of hugs and wishes for a beautiful new fur coat. hugs
Sending lots of purrs to your family and hoping your Mom can find another job she enjoys!
Ah, Ruffy, I'm sorry to hear that this happened to your Mom. It happened to our Dad about three years ago, and it was a rough go for a while. Now he's learned that his new company is moving his job to North Carolina, so we may be in the same boat again soon.
But I'll bet she is grateful for more time to spend with you. (And you look pretty awesome with that skinhead cut. It shows off the muscle.)
As for dreams of another time, yeah. When Mom looks at me, she sees the feisty kitten, the adolescent who could jump to the top of the fridge from a flat-footed start directly in front of it, the incorrigible alarm clock who would burrow under the covers to nip at her toes in the morning. And she thinks, when she sees my paws and whiskers twitch while I'm asleep, that I see it too.
Sending purrs to your mom!
I'm sorry to hear this, but you know what they say "when one door closes, another opens" She can have some extra time for you guys and school work and find a new work place where she can be appreciated. Your Mom is obviously very smart and compassionate and caring and any clients she works with would be blessed to have her! Sending purrs for your furs and too Mommy too!
Ruffy I am so glad you are feeling a bit better. We worry about our orange buddy. We know you have the FIV as our Buttons has it too. It took him a year to get the stomatitis better.
We are Hissy at your Moms work! Mean! Nasty! And we have heard a lot of this from other cat parents. One nurse Pops knows has been looking for a year. Pops gets so mad when he sees the junk on the news about the economy being "Better". Bunk. Well that is enough rant.
Purrs from our family to yours!
Love you all very much
