Well, I got hauled off last night to the vet, as I had thought. It wasn't too bad. Glenn, the Manly Tech came in and weighed me and took my temp. I'm up a pound which I had lost when I was ill, and my temp was normal.

There is a chicken-flavored lysine paste, but we heard it's not all that great tasting. Mom got some from the vet once for Lola, but Lola would not eat it and she loved chicken! We get Lysine treats -- we like 'em! Vetri-Lysine Plus for Cats Bite-Sized Chews. Beepers liked them but I didn't care much for them, and they were way too hard for us -- hard as a rock! Glad there's nothing wrong with your eye Ruffy! When I had to take L-lysine, mom first tried the lysine paste and I hated it. My teeth were too bad for chewy treats, so the lysine treats were a no go. She tried Viralys powder mixed into my food and I would barely touch the food. Finally, on the advice from another cat mom, mom went to the health food store and bought pure human grade L-lysine in 500 mg capsules, opened the capsule and mixed the lysine into my food once a day for 3 weeks and then reduced it to 250 mg for another few weeks. It supposedly tastes bitter to cats but surprisingly, I ate the food and never complained. Purring that you feel better soon! Hugs, Miss Mittens Hi when I had to take L-lysine to build up my immune system after I came in off the streets, mom used the human form it was a tablet she crushed up 1/2 of a 500mg tablets twice a day and put it on my food, I never complained just ate it like it was regular food. I did not care for the paste she has that was salmon flavored, but some kitties there did like it. Feel better and take care of your self sweet kitty. |
