Well, I got hauled off last night to the vet, as I had thought. It wasn't too bad. Glenn, the Manly Tech came in and weighed me and took my temp. I'm up a pound which I had lost when I was ill, and my temp was normal.
Big Vet looked at my eye, stained it. It's not a scratch, she thinks it's a virus and its reoccuring. Without testing she doesn't know what kind.
She gave mom and dad medicine for my eye to see if it helps. She told Mom and Dad lysine 2x a day for me (yuck, why can't there be lysine chickens, or trout, even-k, Tabbies?)
She said that I am such a lovely cat, and very mellow...which I always am.
She said she loved my big head.
She wants to see me back in 10 days.
She does think the virus thing of my eye is from my depressed immune system.
She said I should drink plenty of guiness and nip beer to keep up my immune system. (well, not really, but I think so!)
Mommy was glad to hear that it was not really bad....and wasn't surprised to hear that I could have recurrent flare ups...
I'm well, didn't get any c hicken this morning...and am relaxing on the couch back.

bro, meez hope that this med works and U's get all okay!! and also hopes that ur mom shows U's some pity an gives some lubbly chickies to eat!!!
There is a chicken-flavored lysine paste, but we heard it's not all that great tasting. Mom got some from the vet once for Lola, but Lola would not eat it and she loved chicken!
We get Lysine treats -- we like 'em! Vetri-Lysine Plus for Cats Bite-Sized Chews. Here they are (I hope!) on Amazon but lots of places sell them:
We tried some other treats - Enisyl-F Lysine Treats from Vetoquinol (Mom got them from the vet, too, but you can also buy those online). Beepers liked them but I didn't care much for them, and they were way too hard for us -- hard as a rock!
Maybe you'll get some chicken for dinner! :)
Hope you get some chicken later!
dood...ewe iz ree laxin on de bak oh de couch coz ya dinna eat any stoooooooooooooooopid chcikn, if ewe had eated de stooooooooooooooooopid chcikn mor N like lee ewe wood be hurlin rite now....
I's glad to hear is not a big pro'lem. I think is so unfair--vet visit an NO chicken! You shoulda gots lotsa chicken fur bein a good boy at the vets. Jus' sayin...
Glad there's nothing wrong with your eye Ruffy! When I had to take L-lysine, mom first tried the lysine paste and I hated it. My teeth were too bad for chewy treats, so the lysine treats were a no go. She tried Viralys powder mixed into my food and I would barely touch the food. Finally, on the advice from another cat mom, mom went to the health food store and bought pure human grade L-lysine in 500 mg capsules, opened the capsule and mixed the lysine into my food once a day for 3 weeks and then reduced it to 250 mg for another few weeks. It supposedly tastes bitter to cats but surprisingly, I ate the food and never complained.
Purring that you feel better soon!
