Mommy is worried....August 1st 2012 9:02 am[ Leave A Comment | 4 people already have ]
Hi furs,
Leave A Comment | 4 people already have Hello Bella dear, I have some of the same issues. My fur is greasier and it doesn't seem to be as nice as it used to me. It looks better when Mom brushes me, but she thinks I'm fragile and she doesn't brush as often as she might. Lately I've also had a little dirty spot above my nose which I didn't used to have. I've eaten wet food for a long time now, but lately my nose gets dirty so maybe I'm not grooming as much. We also get arthritis when we get older and it's not as easy to do everything we used to, including as much grooming. I still will groom, but I don't get as much done maybe. It also makes my mommy sad when she sees me so thin and my fur not what it was. It's great that you are eating well - it's sooo important! Even though we don't gain much weight, we have to keep that food and the nutrients coming in. Keep eating, sweet girl... I also enjoy having my face washed - it feels good! Purrs and love to you... ~ Gumpy Oh Bella, and Gump, I'm with you there. I can't groom like I used to. I can't reach around like when I was younger. I now only do my face. My paws get stains on them because I drool a little after my medicines. My fur has that oily feel too. Mom read were it could be thyroid that does that to our coats. I meow at daybreak and wake the humans for no reason that they can understand. Mom knows that my bridge day is coming too and she is sad about and worries about the right time to make my journey. For now, we just cherish each day that we have together. I am still eating good and peeing and pooping in the appropriate place. I still love to be brushed, although Mom is much gentler than she used to be. I still like to rub my face in catnip. Each night, when Mom turns out my light, she tells me "Good night love, see you in the morning" , and sometimes I think it is more like a request that I don't leave her overnight than a standard "goodnight". MAy we all have many more days together! Love and purrs, Mrs M Purring for you Bella!! A couple years ago, I wasn't grooming myself for a while. I got a little matted since momma didn't understand that that was what was going on and though my fur was just changing since I was getting old. After she realized that was what was wrong and got me all groomed up, I went back to grooming myself. She thinks I might have been a little sick or something when I started not grooming. |
