Not the worst of news, but not the best my friendS!
My swollen Nipple is not an infection. It's a collection of fluid and now it's happening with my other nipple. Daddy can't remember what the name is, and Mommy wants to know. It begins with ST.
Big Vet says it is not cancer. She took some fluid out today. I got a B12 shot. I didn't like when the fluid came out.
Big Vet thinks the nipples should come off. She said this is not unknown with older kitty girls, even when spayed.
Mommy is concerned, not just that the surgery will be expensive, but because of my age and putting me under with anesthesia. Mommy wants to speak with the vet herself. She's confused and nervous.
Today they took out fluid, and they will do it in two weeks, too. Our tech Rachel told Daddy human older people get this too.
Mommy's concerned it bothers me. She knelt down and hugged me tonight and told me I am 'Mommas Kitty Girl' and she will speak with the vet on Monday.
Sigh....what a week.
PS, I sure could do with the company of a nice gentleman cat to purr to me and tell me it will be all right....

Oh no sweet girl the surgery for an older girl does sound scary to mom too. My cousin dog SallY (shown dogster on little bits page) had something like that too and she was too old for surgery so they drained it for her few times. Maybe your mom will feel better about surgery after she talks with vet face to face.
Squeeker (Blizzard's brofur) is lookin fur a nice o'der girl-kitty. Whatcha think?
Oh no we sure hate to hear this but we are so glad it isn't cancer...we are purring and praying for you, we know your Mom will make the right decision once she knows what it is...yes age is a concern....
We send you love, hugs, purrs and of course butterflies from heaven. I will be there no matter what Bella...
Sending you lotsa purrs.
Oh no no Bella! I'm very sorry to hear this! Your vet wouldn't recommend surgery if she thought it wasn't absolutely necessary. Still, there's definitely a concern about surgery at your age and with your CRF. There are precautions vets take with the type of anesthesia they use on older cats and other things they can do to make surgery a little less risky. Hope your mommy feels a little calmer after she talks to your vet!
You're in our thoughts and purrs!
