Arrival Story:
Louis was the first kitten, along with his litter mate Leo to be taken from the horse barn. He was rescued in the spring of 2007 during a project initiated by the farm owners to have a local organization come in and do a trap-neuter-release for their barn cats. All of the cats were trapped, and the adults were spayed/neutered, while the kittens were all re-homed. My girlfriend took these two before the rest of the cats were taken from the farm. After the TNR, some illness went through the population of cats and many of them died. Louis and Leo were the only two of the kittens to survive.
Bio:
Louis is a very fun and interactive cat. He plays fetch. As in, he really plays fetch. He has these little mice toys that he will bring to us. We throw them for him, and he goes and gets them, and brings them back to us to throw again. He will do this for hours if we are willing to play along. He is also very friendly. He greets us at the door when we come home, and he comes to sit on our laps when we are just hanging out. Additionally, as for as cats go, he is the dominant male of our group. While it is very clear that he is in charge of the other cats, he also rules with a gentle hand, ha, ha. If he wants to lay in a spot where another cat is, he will go over, lay on top of the other cat, and start grooming them. Sometimes, they just let him stay with them together, sometimes the other cat leaves. But, Louis always gets his way. He has been a very good mentor and companion for Ovid for the past year and a half!
