Does it Pay to be Picky?

I'm tired of the wet food mom's been feeding me. The dry food everyone else eats still makes my tummy growl, so I eat some of that. I think mom's frustrated with my lack of a zealous appetite.

But at least I keep her lap warm and she still loves me.

I've been to the vet twice now for the same problem. Well, what I'm guessing is the same problem.

Mom took me in during the summer because I'd been losing weight. Sometimes I'm a little passive-aggressive so maybe I was just not eating as much because she had this new guy in her life. She wasn't paying as much attention to me, so I thought I'd let her know how it should be.

The vet did some blood work on me and took a cat-scan. Ironic, right? Nothing was wrong with my liver or kidneys and mom told the vet she'd try putting me on wet food. (Oh thank the lord, real food with gravy!)

Months later, we moved into a new apartment and I ended up with a dad as a new addition to our female family. How wonderful - can you hear the sarcasm?

Anyway, the second trip to the vet was all around much better than the first. Apparently, I weighed less, but they fed me! Since when do any of us go to the vet and get treated to some fine dining? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Mom told them my stomach had been gurgling and I was throwing up a lot. Not the usual hairball stuff, but I guess my tummy didn't want to keep everything down sometimes. I didn't like eating the dry food for the other cats that was left out, but sometimes I wouldn't eat all my other wet food. The vet said I have bad teeth, because I'm old. She told my mom to try Science Diet and pack some pounds on me before we could remove them. Remove my teeth? Are they crazy? Well, Slippers has been living with three canines for a while now, so I guess it can't be so bad.

The point is, my stomach still gurgles and I don't always want to eat the nummy Science Diet food. My puking has been better, so I keep more down, but the gurgling continues.

I'm watching mom trying to do some research online and she's wondering if I have worms, or if all I need is some of that pink pepto stuff.
