Coloration: Seal-Lynx Point Likes: sleeping in my lap when I'm at the computer (especially when I'm working) Pet-Peeves: being picked on by little sister Lily, having Smoky steal her food Favorite Toy: fuzzy catnip squirrel (when Smoky doesn't slobber on it), fuzzy mice Favorite Nap Spot: mom's lap when I'm at the computer (especially when I'm working) Favorite Food: Purina One chicken flavor, REAL chicken, extra-sharp cheese, peanut butter, whole-grain bread, crackers Skills: plopping on top of whatever I'm doing, taking up as much space as possible, cuddling, lap warming, looking cute; she also takes her job as backrest seriously, perching behind my shoulders when I'm typing away. The moment I leave the chair, she takes over! Dwells:
indoors Arrival Story: My boss told me about a beautiful "white" kitten she'd seen at the vet. If her daughter hadn't insisted on finding an orange tiger, she would have taken this kitten herself, but thought I might want her; I went, and the "white" kitty was actually a lynx-point Siamese whose points were starting to darken. I was told someone else was interested but if they didn't come back in two days I could have her. They didn't, and I was delighted to have her in my family! (While I was waiting, they enticed me into also adopting Smoky, an adorable black cat with a short kinky tail and big gold eyes!) Bio: Mystic loves everybody, but loud people scare her, as do smokers; she can't stand the smell! She delights in 'helping' the computer techs who visit, as well as the phone techs, the cable guy, the plumber...
She's also fairly adept at avoid getting her tail run over by my wheelchair, possibly because of a few close calls when she was younger! She has a special talent for hiding pens and pencils; and more than once I've found colored pencils on my desk with the points chewed off, so I had to put them where she shouldn't get to them because they some may be toxic.
She has the most gorgeous blue eyes and everyone comments on them. She's a lynx point Siamese, and has gradually darked so from the back she looks more tabby than Siamese, but when she was young she was mostly cream with the striped points. She has the most delightful trill; I've never heard her actually meow. Wait, I take that back. When she's in mama hunter mode, bringing home her kill of fuzzy mouse or ball, she does her "meow meow meow" call for her kittens she'll never have, as she was spayed years ago. Her purr is quiet, but will calm the hardest heart! She was very upset, however, when I brought our youngest kitten, Lily, home with me a year after I'd lost our beloved Bombay, who escaped outside and never found her way back. Lily likes to tease her and chase her, and she always comes running to mom! But I've caught them snoozing together more than once. Lives Remaining: 9 of 9 Forums Motto: I'm the cutest, gotta love me! Mommy says I can write here about my pictures, so here goes.
1. Mommy says I’m her little angel. Boy have I got her buffaloed.
2. I think we need more cat books. I see a few, but there should be lots more. No…there should be books with ME in them. Mom, get busy, you’re on the computer all day; write a book about ME!
3. Even when I was little I had Mom wrapped around my paw. All I gotta do is flash my big blue eyes. She says they’re violet in the middle. I can’t tell. Just as long as everybody who sees me keeps saying I have beautiful eyes, I don’t care.
4. Ooops! Uh, hi, Mom. Just checking the crop. No, I don’t think that side is flattened. Maybe they’re just tired…
5. Mystic the beautiful. Mystic the lynx-point Siamese. Mystic the adorable. All must worship and adore me! In Mommy’s chair I’m safe from the others!
6. Behold Mystic’s saw a cat in half trick!
7. Mommy needs all the help she can get decorating the tiny tree.
8. Mommy’s chair and furry catnip mice: it doesn’t get any better than this!
9. Fresh from the dryer, nice soft sweaters and a great hiding place – oops, hi Mom…
10. Checking Daddy’s boots for spiders. You can’t be too careful.
