Arrival Story:
Sylvester was driving me crazy because he couldn't handle being an only cat. I went to the shelter to pick out a companion cat for him, and I ended up with this calico cat, whom was named Callie, picking me. She meowed when I looked at other cats.
The shelter workers told me she was trapped in the wreakage of a tornado, found lying next to her mother, who did not survive the storm.
When I brought her home, I had to go back to work, so when I did return home for the night, my mom renamed her Tweety because she sounded more like a canary than a cat when she piped up. Funny thing--she immediately answered to Tweety!! She had to have been already named Tweety.
Bio:
I lost Tweety on the same day I lost Sylvester. I had to take her to the shelter for the same reason I had to surrender my other cat, Sylvester; because of the loss of my mother and the impending eviction from my apartment. Only she was put to sleep because she suffered from cat flu--at age 6 1/2. Otherwise, she could have gone to a new home. :(
