Playing with her sister Baxie
Not being fed exactly when she wants
Favorite Nap Spot:
Curled up on my legs while I watch TV
She can talk with her mouth full!
On 9-9-09 and barely home from work, I got a knock on the door. It was my neighbor asking if I would "Please, please, please, PLEASE" take the kitten our maintenance manager found at our apartments. Being the sucker I am, and knowing that Baxie needed a playmate, I said "Yes". Little black female about 3.5 months old with yellow eyes. And she had ATTITUDE! Meowed and meowed and meowed telling me all about what had been happening to her before coming to me. She was SO talkative that she was even talking while she ATE! It was the funniest thing I think I've ever seen. That night I put her in the bathroom to quarantine away from Baxie. She wasn't screaming, but she hollered all night and I finally gave up at 1:30 a.m. As soon as I let her out of the bathroom I had an instant companion on the bed for the rest of the night just purring up a storm. So, the short story is that she is EXACTLY what Baxie needed in a little sister. The two of them are best buds and spend most of their time playing and cavorting about the apartment. We all spend a lot of time outside (without the baby gate on the stairs) with the two of them snooping around and chasing after each other. Zoe is a Godsend and came to us just when we needed her. She has calmed down considerably from those first days, but she still talks up a storm and let's me know all about how her day went. If Phoebe had to leave it was for Zoe to come into our lives. I am very thankful for this little black bundle and will cherish her for the rest of my life.
Zoe went MIA on 3/1/2010. I have no idea if she is still alive or not.

I cannot tell you how much it hurt to have Zoe disappear. The fact that Baxie had lost yet another companion was devastating. I kept hoping she would come back, but after 3 months, my resolve started to thin. My cry to God was, "If Zoe can't come back, then please bring us another." That prayer was answered last week. Penny came into our lives and she is perfect for Baxie. (You can go to her page and read her story.)
Penny is cute as a button and has a very playful personality. Baxie realizes that she's still a baby as is being careful with her, but I'm confident that one day our Feline Wrestling Federation will be in full swing again.
I still miss you Zoe and my heart still hurts, but I know little Penny is a gift from heaven to ease our pain. I will treasure her for ever.
I love you Squirt and can't wait to be reunited with you one day in Heaven.

I cannot believe it. Zoe is missing! I came home, opened the door, went inside for a bit, then went back out, went in and fed Zoe, went to the bathroom, went back out and she was GONE. I mean GONE. Not in any of her usual haunts and not answering any of my calling. Neighbors helped me look for a couple hours around the whole apartment complex. Then another neighbor helped me look later around midnight. I got up at 3am and put up posters and looked again. Nothing. It's like she disappeard into thin air. I cannot handle losing another one so soon. It's only been 6 months since Phoebe left. If I cannot find this little girl, I will be completely crushed.
