Let's talk about the zoomies

I have got to tell you kitties about the funny story that happened while Mommy was in France. So Aunt Courtney has never owned cats, lots of puppies, but no kitties. She was so worried that while watching us she'd miss something because she didn't know cat behavior. Mommy said not to worry, we kitties sleep most of our days away and eat and are pretty self sufficient. I mean, sister and I are 'social butterflies' as our vet says, but we are still pretty self sufficient kitties. So, basically mommy went over all our behaviors and figured that would be good.

Well, a week after mommy left, Aunt Courtney wakes up at 3am in the morning to me and the zoomies. She heard me thundering down the hallway, through the living room, dinning room, into the kitchen, spinning around and running back. She sits straight up and stares at me and calls out "RIVER?" I stopped and stared up at her. Aunt Courtney says it was the biggest eyes she had ever seen in her life. We stared at one another for a moment, and then I took off again. She though for sure something was wrong, there was something in the house, or I was freaking out. She tried to catch me, that only makes the zoomies more fun, so I started running faster and faster. Simone just sat there watching me and Aunt Courtney. Finally Aunt Courtney sends mommy an email asking what is wrong me with. Mommy got the email and started laughing. Opps, she forgot about the zoomies! How could you forget the zoomies mommy? The zoomies are so much fun!

Right now mommy is getting her work done, she is almost all caught back up. She has to go start her thread in our new group though! Takes a lot of days to get all caught back up from work. You should have seen the piles of laundry she had to do, it was mountains, I had fun climbing it! All right, off to do some exploring!

Laughing, I actually did that to my Mommie this mornign at 2 am, she woke up to me running up and down the hallway as fast as I could, jumping on the bed, jumping off the bed and back down the hallway, on and on. She called me and i stopped dead in my tracks and just look at her with wild eyes she said, then I took off again. Mama said, oh well, whatever Sassy and she went back to sleep! She knew I had the zoomies she can always tell the difference in my meow if something is wrong like another kitty lurking outside the patio or something.

Hugz and purrs, Sassy

That is too funny! I love doing the zoomies! Sometimes I like to run around and bring mommy something while she's sleeping. Then she throws it so I can run after it. I like to keep my mommy on her toes!

We were doing that tonight at supper...meowmy always says we sound like a stampede of elephants. We furget to be 'dainty' and dignified...as Meezers are supposed to! Sure is fun, though! Sometimes our zoomies are accompanied by a spawsial type of miaowing/yowling, typical Meezer-speak...

Yes, zoomies are the most fun! Mommy is convinced that we see something that she can't see. I'm not telling!
Love
