Oh well, mommy though for sure I had broken everything in the house I could and what was left was safe... so wrong mommy, so wrong.
I jumped up on the dinner table last night and flopped down as I so often do, on the table runner and great big candle at the center. Well... this time, wouldn't you know it, that big candle didn't stay up. It has a glass case surrounding it and the whole thing came toppling down and exploded, sending glass shards EVERYWHERE. Mommy came running and saw what I had done. I got really scared and ran. Of course, she was more worried about me, don't you know. She caught me and flipped me over to check my 'baby feet' to make sure there was no glass in them, then she locked up sister and me in the bedroom and cleaned the whole front of the house to make sure there was no glass anywhere. She was a little disappointed because she really liked the candle dish, but luckily the great big candle and the bottom metal holder came out fine and it can still sit on the table, just no more glass. Probably better this way. Poor mommy, she thought for sure the glass was too thick for me to ever break, and for over a year, she was right. Too bad she had to lose to my crazy toes in the end!
I guess to punish me today Mommy and Daddy gave me a bath. I know. Ick. Daddy thought I had too much dandruff and it was giving him allergies and mommy is concerned that I have too much fuzz and get too hot. Lucky me. They bathed me. Now I'm all wet and sister is helping to dry me off. I will have to go lay in my favorite sun spot and look offended about this. Humph! Not fair, all I did was break a candle holder!

We all do things we can't help sometimes River. I have broken some of Mama's stuff too. She worries more about me just like your Mama than the stuff though. I am so furry glad yews okay though. Baffs are not too bad, I don't like them much but I handle it okay I guess.
Hugz and purrs, Sassy
I think my meowmy would have freaked more about me than the dish, too. They can be replaced, but feet...only one pair (or 2 fur kitties...MOL!), Is all you have and is they hurt its so hard to get around.
LLLoonnggg time ago, meowmy's first kitty knocked over a mantle clock when he was in a panic. The glass 'crystal' shattered, the inside was broken beyond repair, but somehow the case survived. It was given a new heart...(A new battery operated clock was set inside the case instead of the old key wound one)...and a new glass crystal was installed. But then the clock went into thew bedroom where the kitties never go!
Meowmy did not give Groucho a hard time about it...she was worried that he had felt so panicked that he had to go up and behind that clock, and she had not been there to help him or even know what brought it on. Probably a bad thunderstorm while she was at work.
People and Kitties = broken stuff!
We're glad your little paws are okay River. We broke mommy's favorite lamp once. She never knew which one of us did it. I'll never tell. I think she punished you by giving you a bath.
We have broken things in our house, too. Glad you didn't get hurt, River! I'd be really ticked off about the bath - that was uncalled for!
Thanks guys, I feel better about having broken something mommy liked so much knowing everyone (including mommy) knows it was an accident.
As for the bath, it wasn't really a punishment but it sure felt like it! Mommy and Daddy have to bathe me about 4 times a year. It's these long fuzzies of mine, curse my handsome long fuzzies!!! I can get a little greasy and I have such a thick undercoat I can't clean it off properly. I also shed so much fuzzies at the change of seasons that they get knotted up easily. I am just so Maine Coon fuzzy!!! Mommy says you should all see me after a bath with my winter coat. I'm gorgeous. All poofed up big and handsome and I have a real strut when I look that good!
At least the bath is over and won't happen again for a few months. Icky baths!
oh... and I smell really nice now!
Oh I'm glad you're ok. That was a close call! Too bad about that nasty bath...that was cruel and unusual punishment! MOL!
