ANOTHER Foster in the house?

Why does mommy do this? She's always bringing fosters home. Since Marshmallow is still being fed baby food (she's up to 8 cans a day and we still need her to eat kitty food) she is still at a different foster house better suited for her. The woman has more vet training than mommy. So, for the meantime, mommy has taken in a new one. I know, WHAT is up with that? She was hoping to take a kitty named Toots who is a black long haired fuzzy missing an eye. She was adopted through Animal Outreach and then suffered an 'exploding eye' as they called it. The family brought her in and the clinic fixed her up, then the family didn't want her back. How horrible is that? This poor little girl recovered and now needs a new forever home. So sad. When she showed up though they asked her to take Ivy instead. Ivy is an adult female kitty who they know very little about. Animal Outreach took on 40 cats recently from a high kill shelter marked for death, poor Ivy got lost in the mix and has been in a cage at Petsmart for a few weeks now and really needs to get out. She's also deaf. She's all white. Mommy was saying she was going to take both, a blind black kitty and a deaf white kitty! We only have Ivy right now though. We don't know if she likes other kitties though so we aren't mixing with her yet. She's a nice girl to mommy and is just so happy to be out of the cage. She'll post a page for her soon.

My only complaint though, did mommy think of ME when she did this? My mommy is my mommy and I don't like sharing her with foster kitties. Sigh... What is a perfect girl to do? I guess I have to share my mommy whenever I can to these poor kitties who just need forever homes so badly. I hope she gets adopted soon though so I can have my house back! (and that mommy doesn't take Toots home then) I only have so much patience in my little Moe Moe body!

Your mommy is an angel! We love people who foster. Mom tried it one time, only to keep Marmelade and Midge. MOL No more fostering for her. :)

Your Mommie is great to help out the kitties. You know how much you are loved Simone and nothing can change that! You should share your Mom with the less fortunate kitties. I know you will do it! Sorry it took me so long to comment, I am really having a hard time finding new diary entries and having to go back for pages and pages to find them. You and River and the fosters have a safe and Happy Halloween!

I know from personal experience how hard it can be. Mommy takes in and cares for strays, lots of strays. We have been our humane society waiting list for 2 - 3 years and they have only taken 2 and that was pretty recent. Some of the outside kitties have been trapped down the street somewhere. The have been taken to the city's shelter (one has been adopted). It is utter chaos around here. I know my mommy does it because she cares but it is mighty hard to take. I guess my mommy wouldn't be my mommy if she didn't love all kitties. I guess we just have to figure we wouldn't have them if they weren't the way they are and learn to share them, even if it is hard.
I sure do hope you feel extra special on your birthday. I'm sure your mommy will make sure of it!!
Luv, hugs & sandpaper kisses,

Your mommy is special and loving, glad she is taking in a kitty who really needs a home. Give it time she'll be better.

Hope Ivy can get adopted soon - for you to get your momma back (hee hee) and for her to find her furever home.

Hi Simone
Wow lots going on!

Pops reminds everyone who brings a foster kitty home that even if they are in isolation and checked for the bad things that can spread in a furmaly they may have those nasty buggies!! Pops brought a very sad little girl home who has been in foster for a long time. BUT... It was one of those hectic days and maybe he did not check close enough and... Fles in the foster room. Then they came to our main Furs...

ARGH!! I never even saw a flea before(I am 3+years).
It was not Annies fault so the vac and the treat and the vac and the baths, oh and worm meds too, and vac and treat...
Whew... We think it is over this weekend but Rumpy cannot come out of the foster room.

ANYHOW Enough of that THANKS for Fostering!!

Happy Birfdayz to Simone

You're Mom is really great for helping a deaf cat. I was a foster too, but I convinced Daddy to keep me. I hope the two of you will get along like Marshy. Look at it this way, if the new one can't hear, then she can't hear you sneaking up behind her.
