Arrival Story:
A friend of mine found Angel in some grass when she was just 2 weeks old. Apparantly her kitty mommy abandoned her. My friend called me because she knows that I rescue animals. I couldn't just let the little kitten starve, so I went to her house and brought the little kitten home with me, and have been bottle feeding her ever since. Our dachshund, Munchkin adobted her. Munchkin will lick her and keep her clean and cuddle up with her to keep her warm. Munchkin had a litter of puppies earlier this year, so I think it is that maternal instinct in her. Little Angel loves Munchkin!
Bio:
The reason the mommy kitty abandoned little Angel is because Angel has a birth defect. One of Angel's front legs does not work properly, so Angel has trouble walking. Instead of walking on her paw like she should, she walks on her elbow of that leg. Because of putting the pressure on her elbow, she has a big sore in that area. The vet says that the leg may have to be amputated when she gets a little older, so she will probably be a special needs kitty.
Update: Sadly, little Angel passed away on October 20, 2009. We don't know what went wrong. She was fine in the morning, and a few hours later when I went to feed her she was gone. At least we know she is not in any pain and she is now at the rainbow bridge where she will be young and healthy forever.
