Arrival Story:
Goldie was my moms Cat and yes she sure was! My mother got her as a kitten a year or so befor my fathers passing. She loved being yelled at when she would dig at things screens and carpets dad couldnt get up so he would yell and she seemed to love it and dig all the much more. You would had thought dad hated her but no she would cuddle in his blankets at his feet weather in his chair or bed and he loved it. After dads passing mom noticed she didnt like being held she took goldie for her apointment and found she had very bad arthritise that it looked like she may have been kicked fallen from a tree or perhaps a neighbor may have swatted her with a broom and she had badly healed injury's to her legs she was indeed an outdoor cat and something indeed (not my parents causing) happened. mom would never in her life hurt an animal none of us in my family would. so only mom could hold her she would squirm if we tried. After a few years mom was ill I moved in to care for her for a couple years and I and my fairly new cat misty fell in love with and got along with sweet goldie . Goldie did let misty know who was in charge. after moms passing in 1999 I inherited the house along with its real now owner Goldie she disapeared for a week after moms passing I was so upset I called everyone to search I cried every day then suddenly during a BBQ with freinds to help cheer my spirits, up the drive came goldie every one stared I was like what you all looking at and it was like a movie up the steps and into the kitchen friends parted the way and she walked up and sat in front of me all I remember is going to me knees crying with joy it made for a very special day. Goldie also moved with me when I got married. moving to another state this was about the time I discovered the new medication that would help her arthritis and she became a kitten again running around having fun chasing the other cats playing with toys acting silly. after a year she started to get sick, xray after xray showed only that she had fur balls in her intestines and we gave her stuff to help her go to the bathroom, our second christmas with my husband she kept wanting to go to the bacement we said no and noticed again she hadnt eaten wich means we should probably give her some of the stuff to help her pass her hair balls. we went to bed we found her in the morning in full distress I wrapped her in a towel and rushed her to vets it turned out it wasnt hairballs at all but cancer the xrays actually was showing cancer not hair balls a rare cancer that had spread and had opened filling her. they said she most like had it for a few years. they told us nothing could have been done even if we knew I understood but said if I did know I could spent extra time with her and understood what she was feeling and helped her better in the end so yes I was upset, I had the option to say goodbye before they shut off her machines that where keeping her alive I pet her and said go now and please say hello to mom for me sweet old girl she will have her arms open for you and thank you for being my friend and helping me. every time I cried months after I would say to myself goldie would be yelling at me rubbing my leg wanting me to stop wich would make me smile and take a deep breath. goldie was 13 when she passed away.

Bio:
Goldie always knew when someone was upset and would cry and rub us trying to cheer us up, Goldie found one of moms pills on the floor and put it in her mouth and drop it in moms hand. Goldie although didn't like to be held had a magic a love, a motherly caring way about her. I still miss her so much.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
