Arrival Story:
Lucky was found one morning when my Mom heard a kitten crying under the house. He had become tangled up in some wire, next to a sibling, who had died some days before. When we were able to cut him loose, it was discovered his right rear leg, which he had been hanging from, was cold and dead. He was brought into the house imediately to be checked out and cared for, and that's how he came to be ours.

Lucky was cared for at home & given all the care and medications he would have been given at the vet's. On the 12th day after his rescue, it became suddenly evident that he needed a vet, and to have his leg amputated. Unfortunately, we did not have the money to do this. People who had heard his story on the internet began sending donations, and payed his medical bills. Due to their incredible generosity, Lucky is now a tripod kitty, and even though he's lacking a limb, he's gained a life. The first photos of him at left are when he still had all four feet & legs. The others were taken right after his surgery to remove his right rear leg- the day after in fact. Lucky has instantly become a very lovable but sometimes unholy terror, commonly known as a kitty. He plays constantly with Cloud, and adores any and all attention anyone is willing to give him- shy he is not! He's also quickly growing intoa big cat; he will probably soon pass up Cloud in size! ---Update--- Lucky's full story can be seen here as we update it frequently. At this time, it's more the story of the other cats we are working to spay and neuter as we can. Slowly but surely, we hope to dramatically slow and then stop the breeding of this population of cats. We hope to alter at least 10 this year.

My mom got these shelves that are like honeycombs and put her clean towels and stuff in them. She does it so I have a nice place to sleep, right? It's so nice, but I can't understand why she laughs at me when I use them... and Cloud! She just looks at me as though I've lost my mind.

What's a cool cat to do?

Travelin' Man!

A couple of days ago my Mommy (the human one) took me traveling! She picked me up and put on the special collar and leash and tucked me into her big, blue car. Then I sat on her lap and we drove for a long time. I was kind of scared, and she made me sit there for a while, then I went to sit on the floor behind the passenger seat in the back. I didn't even cry!

Finaly she stopped and I sat on her lap again and looked around a lot. There were people everywhere! She said it was okay to do this stuff because all of my shots are up to date (I go to the vet like a good boy!) and these were nice people. We were in front of a huge building that said Barnes & Noble on it. I've never been there but my Mommy goes a lot.

Then we went and sat down on a chair in front of the building and talked and got petted and touched and stuff. Mommy talked a lot; mostly I sat and watched and sniffed a few people and let them pet me. It was very exciting and I might go again soon. I think I kind of liked it and will be much braver next time!

The Catster people only let my Mommy share 10 pictures of me, so she had to take a few older ones down. But now I have a new one that I look so handsome in, and so big! It's my new Primary picture! hehe

She took it tonight, May 12th, 2005, and I am about 6 months old now.
