My furiend Isis Luna had an awesome idea.
Here is what she wrote in her DIARY:
"I think Catster & Dogster should send email messages to all our pals when a new family memeber is added to our Catster & Dogster accounts so your friends can quickly be friends with the new member.
If you agree please copy and paste this to your Diary page."
I think it's a VERY good idea, because our family also got to know about the addition to their fur-family later than we'd wanted to know.
Love & Light to everyfur,
Janie

Well, being a rain season here - there is a lot of mice and rats around the neighbors' places.
We go out and get all we want and we bring our catch home.
Nowadays I brought home two more mice, one of which Johnie ate once again, and another no-one wanted.
But Johnie is not so selfish, you know...
Couple of days ago he brought a very nice juicy mouse. He just brought it and meowed loudly for me to hear. So I came and was very pleased with live prey to play with. He gave me his mouse and just turned around and went to rest, whilst I had all the fun with it I wanted. All of my other sisters don't want mice, they just like to watch.
So, I played enough and gave it back to Johnie. He took it behind TV to eat and just ate some legs of it, leaving the rest to anyone who wanted.
Well, we just did not want to eat any of that mouse and mom flushed it down the toilet.
Just wanted to say that my bro also shares, cos mom thought that he was selfish, but he's not. It just we girls don't like to eat rodent meat, we rather like our cut-up beef and chicken mom gives us.

If any of furs have something to say - please do so!
My mom is worried sick these days about me in particular and all of us. I say - 'there is nothing to worry about, mommy, I just like to help'.
The thing is that our neighbors had a break-in to their property and a house three times now, and they have four dogs to protect them.
What happens is that bad humans don't worry about animals - I mean that thieves don't worry. Somehow they can control dogs, even without hurting them. They break into human properties during the night and steal all they want.
So, our neighbors asked my humans just to watch over their house whilst they were away, just to peak over the wall and see if everything looks right. Since then my mom had no sleep at night, cos we keep waking her up at strange occurring things in there.
See, me and my feline sisters and bro, but especially sisters are very sensitive to those things. When our dog Mia barks - I run straight out and lead the front to see if anything is wrong. So, my humans' place was not affected because of me and my sisters and my bro Johnie. See, some of us are always around, even if some others love to go out during the night. So, when anything is 'sort of funny' going on - we alert our humans to that more than our doggies do.
And that is main of my mommy's concern. She worries about us too much. She tells us that we are so fragile and so small to do anything and we have to just run and hide at any bad noise or activity. But me - no, I can't do that. I want to be the front line and do my work I know how.
Mom really is amazed and worried that we, felines don't bother about bolts of thunder and lightning, or even rain poring, we don't bother about fireworks, when doggies want to hide, we run out instead of inside when something bad is about to happen.
Mom often says that we are not suppose to be guard-cats, we are suppose to enjoy good and placid feline-like lives.
She says that our home is always there to protect us, but I just seem to feel otherwise. I feel that we have to protect our home and our humans from other bad humans and bad happenings.
Yes, we've been good help to keep our grounds safe and that of our neighbors, which they let us use for a mice hunts.
I ask anyfur to just tell my mum if you have an experience in this kind of cat-behavior that she doesn't have to worry about us? Please?
Or.... are we really silly to be so brave?!!! - Mom just freaks out about me in particular these days and can't get a good night sleep if I'm not in her bedroom the whole night.
Hey, do I ever get any privacy?
Love and Light to everyfur,
Yours, Janie.

Once again I'm thrilled that some of my fur family including myself are the finalists in the 'Coolest...'!
And once again we greatly appreciate all the people who voted for us to make it happen.
I had a second thought though.
Just because we live in Zimbabwe - we can't get full benefit of winning a category or the best in show. But American furs can!!! Vote for them! Not for us!!!
So I just thought to say to everyfur (and my family supports me fully in this) - Please DON't vote for me or my family for the best in show.
We are already honored and appreciate being finalists and that is a very big joy for us and it should be as far as we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We believe that American kitty and doggy must win, because they could have all the benefits, and their humans can have some valuable prises too!!! Imagine what they will get for their fur kids if they win and how proud they'd be!!!
My family and myself just happy that we were appreciated so much for all of you liking our pictures when you voted for us in the first place to become finalists!
We also want to thank Catster for choosing our photos to advertise the contest as it was progressing. For a while it was my picture in 'climber' and for a while it was my bro Johnie's picture in 'scaredy cat'. We really were thrilled about this to be on a front page of Catster!!!
We also want to thank you all again and again for voting for us.
We will not advertise further and not ask people to vote for us apart from what we did on this wonderful site already!
Best of luck to everyfur to be the category winners and the best in show!
I wish that somehow judges could read my entry too not to nominate us for the category winners... Cos the American furs could get the good benefits out of that too!!! Yes, we love kudos and being appreciated too, but we got it a lot from all of you already...!!!!!!!
And last but not least: My personal favorite for the 'captivated cat' category (I just have to say this) is: Vote Pebbles "Goldie Ola" for Best in Show!more: cats
Cos see, this picture is much more superior to mine and is so cool!!! Just beautiful. We love the quality of this photo in all aspects: color balance is great, the focus is super all around, the composition and artistry is just fabulous! Framing is outstanding! The photo really fits the category too, how much more captivated can you get!!?? That's great photography is what my mommy says.
Well, that's just me, I'm in awe of the skill of the photographer who took this picture and my family agree also, though Johnie says that this one: Vote Tux for Best in Show!more: cats is just as good, no less. He says that the photo brings out the mystery in what we cats possess, he says that the exposure and the focus are just right to make it a piece of art.
And my sisters say: hold on - check out on others... they are so great and no less as well... True. Just so hard to chose.
You guys are so talented in posing and modelling all of you.
I take 'my hat' down to you all.
Love & Light to everyfur,
Yours, Janie.

In 'climber': Vote Midnight for Best in Show!more: cats
and in 'scaredy cat': Vote Midnight for Best in Show!more: cats.

My family were so generous and decided to vote for me in 'captivated cat' for best in show: this one - Vote Janie for Best in Show!more: cats
But there are such lovely pictures from all finalists! And not only finalists. We are so honored to be in finals, cos we voted for everyfur and saw such beautiful pictures that didn't make it to the finals, which should have done.

Yes, I do alert my mom ever since I was about 9 month of age.
And now I'm going to be a two-year-old in January next year.
So, I have a bit of an experience in alerting my mommy to strange bad things!
Mommy said that she can trust me more than she can trust our doggies.
Whist doggies will bark at anything and everything, including answering other dogs bark in the neighborhood, we cats will not voice it if nothing serious is going on. I won't even bother if stray dogs are outside the gate, but Mia will go mad about them.
Mia does that to chase them away and tell them off because she sees it her job to protect us, her kitties from them.
So, at night, when it's our duty to stay alert and watch over our humans, and when I sense something is really wrong - I will go to my mommy's bedroom and I will paw at her and growl near her face. Most of the times that alone works. But if mom is asleep too tight, I call others who is available, and we rush to mom's bedroom with some quiet meows and start growling together. Then there is no way mom can stay asleep.
So, last night there was someone lurking around outside our property, it was some of those bad humans that like to go in during the night and steal things and hurt dogs.
Our doggies were barking for a while and then they started whining, but mom doesn't pay attention to them anymore. So, I rushed into her bedroom and started growling, going to the open window and back on her bed.
Mom had to get up and go see around. Daddy wasn't at home.
And when daddy is not at home - we help mommy extra time watching our place.
So, mom detected some humans making funny noises by the gate, that were districting and confusing our dogs: Mia and her pal old Sasha. Then mom came quietly to the gate with a huge stick and started bashing it at the gate, screaming at the same time. Thieves got scared and pushed off. Most of the thieves around here are cowards.
Well, I'm so proud that we can help mommy in such situations.
I, personally alert mommy when Mia barks for something serious too.
Then she pays attention.

Yesterday I caught my first mouse!
The first prey I caught ever!
Ironic - isn't it? ME, JANIE, who doesn't like rats and mice to catch!
Well, I caught it. I played with it and I growled at everybody like Johnie does. All other girls were watching me play with it and bite it. And then I got a taste of it and I was just about to eat it....
Then Johnie woke up. He came rushing at the sound of me killing that mouse. He got very interested and no matter how much I growled at him, Johnie just came and took it from me. I didn't resist him, I only growled because we are s'pose to do that. Then he started growling at all of us, batting the dead already mouse and biting it.
Others just watched. I went outside and lay on the veranda, slightly disappointed. But no way, I would not take it back from my brother. He is the mouser and thinks that all mice belong to him. So, I decided that I caught it for him to eat.
And boy, he ATE it in no time, not even tail was left, just a small piece of bowels with that mouse's waste in them, which mommy took and flushed down the toilet.
I then came and sniffed the place where Johnie ate my mouse and went to him and licked him saying that I'm not at all cross with him. Johnie is my loved brother after all, and he can have my prey if he wants to.
Well, that was that, but I'm still proud that I had my first catch!

I know that we have not been around for a long time.
But if anyfur still cares to pop by - Please could you help and purr for our cousin SERIK.
Yesterday he came home and wasn't himself. He started to have some fits and loss of use of his legs for periods of time and he was in pain.
He was rushed to the Vets and they could not find anything wrong with him.
So, in the evening he became much better, was eating well and running around again.
But fits are now repeating more frequently and he cries with pain. He can't sleep, because as he relaxes - the fits start and pain comes with it.
Now he is in hospital sedated, and docfurs are doing all sorts of tests to find out what is wrong with him.
My mommy and Serik's mommy and human sisters are crying their eyes out.
I'm just asking if anyfur could send some healing energy in thoughts for Serik, so that he feels better and has more hope at full recovery. He was never a sick kitty before.
He had been in couple of fights as a kitten and he has all his vaccinations, dewormings and other important stuff up to date.
Thank you upfront for your help.
Love & Light
Janie and family.

Hi, everyfur!
I thought I'd tell you 'bout that strange and joyful thing that happened to me!
Once in the year 2009 I was a bit bored and just went browsing Catster, and I saw a link! That link quite interested me and I went to see what it was!
It happened to be THIS! - click on THIS!!! And it's free to enter!
This was in 'ads by Google' on a right side of Catster page I was doing my browsing.
So, I got curious and entered one of my photos there.
THIS IS A PHOTO OF ME I submitted in there!
And guess what - shortly after that my momma got an e-mail from them that they want to publish me in a World's best photography Anthology Hard cover book and I WAS CHOSEN!!!
Mom then confirmed that they could publish and I was in that book for 2009!!!
In a new year Momma got another e-mail and they said that I was also chosen for the same book of 2010!!! So, I got in there too!
Yesss, I love climbing and I love posing. So, some others thought that I am cool too!!!
They also said on the e-mail that if I win some prises they will let us know!!! But.... no prises so far. I think that it's because we live in Zimbabwe.
So, the reason I wanted to share this with all furs in here is cos you guys have such great photos of yourselves. And you live in America mostly. So, why don't you try?!!! Do that, try this link and enter, and see - maybe you can also become famous in the World's Book and plus maybe your human family can win nice prises too!!!
Love & Purrs to everyfur,
Janie
