Does anyone know why my head smells of urine today?

Well, perhaps I know, but mommy doesn't know why.
So she wanted me to ask other furs to ask their people what do they think about that.

The thing is: this morning everyone came sniffing my top, and my girls started licking me too, even my dog-friend Mia did the same.
And I just wanted to rest in-front of the heater as usual.

Daddy and Mommy wondered if I was okay, but I was okay and all was normal apart from that.

Later I went to sit in Daddy's office in his briefcase as usual, and mommy came to kiss me as she always does. And then she sniffed me hard on a head and said: "Oh, boy - you smell of piss a bit", but she kissed me anyways.

So she wants to know how can my head smell of cat urine!
And sure it's NOT my urine too! How could I piss on my head?

Mom said that people will need some information in order to answer this question, so here it is.

Litter boxes - NO. We ditched them ourselves about a year ago.
We like to go into the soft soil in the garden which is puffed up for us all the time - plenty of it around in the big yard.
And in rain season there is large litter box put up for us in the carport just under mom's bedroom window and changed with fresh sand every day, but we hardly use it even then. We don't like the smell of it around our house. In-fact, we often go marking all the area around out of our yard, so that others know it's our territory!

All windows in the house are open for us at all times (we go in and out as we wish). It's never very cold in Africa.

Am I sick? - NO. I've been to vets quite a bit in my 2.5 years of life, but mom just fusses for nothing - vets are happy with me.

Yesterday we had Front-line poor on put on us against ticks and fleas.

Our diet is as usual, no changes, and I eat normally as always.

Am I neutered and my girls spayed? - YES.

So, mommy was asking me - did you scare a stray kitty at night so that a kitty pissed on you in fright? Did I go and rub myself in someone's urine? Did a stray girl marked me as her boy so that my girls know I have a girlfriend now?

I wouldn't tell.

So mommy wants some answers and maybe you could help?

may be one of your friends had peed on her head while you were sleeping outside. or may be you were fighting with some other kitty and the other one was losing so it peed on aggression! it happened once with my aunt's kitty and one of her neighbor's country kitty while they were fighting over foods! the other kitty was younger and it was getting defeated that's why it peed on my aunt's kitty! and i don't think there's anything to be afraid off! just make sure that it never happens with an older kitty! it could be dangerous fighting with bigger cats for you!

I's at a loss!! Maybe yous decided to sniff some pee pee that a kitty just disposed of & it gots on your head, hehe. Good luck solving the mystery!!

Well, mom can keep guessing. Though my sisfurs cleaned me and I don't smell anymore - until the next time I decide to perfume myself, MOL!

Congrats on being the Diary of the Day, Johnie! You have beautiful eyes and you looked so handsome on the homepage today. I hope you had a fun day! The only thing I could think of would be maybe you rolled in the litterbox?? I don't know?

I was so happy to find out that I was DDP that my head stopped smelling, LOL!

I think all of you are right in what you said about what could cause this. Mommy isn't worried anymore, because this doesn't happen to me often, but... until the next time - well, when I smell mommy doesn't mind, as long as I am well, she said.

I caught two! I ate the small mouse and the big dead rat I gave to my daddy to eat. He found my present by his bed in the morning.

OMC!! i dont eat rats but thez r just furtastic to kills!! and thez so much greens in ur country too!! it's the best country efur fur cats, agreed!! i lubbs to visit and may be someday i will!!

I agree with ratz thing. I don't quite like the taste, so I give them to mom and dad. I like mice though - that I'll eat all by myself.

You won't be sorry if you visit - it's a great place to be here, especially Vic Falls! But there you must watch for crocks and hippos by the rivers - they eat us and even humans!
Well, hippos don't eat meat, but they kill anything that moves.
