Arrival Story:
Her so-called people moved and left her and a few others behind. She was in heat and subsequently pregnant. Nobody to take care of her. She was so small, I thought she was a kitten. She was completely feral. Once she figured out that there was a steady food supply she hung around closer to the front door. Once she stopped running away she would hiss and spit at me barely before I could open the door to put her food out. I was very worried about her and her kittens to be. There were already so many ferals left behind with her. I knew I had to get her shots and health checked and get her microchipped. I couldn't handle her at all, so I had to trap her in one of those humane traps. After being spayed she calmed down a bit, and much to my husband's surprise, she is very affectionate and loves to be massaged. She's got a purr like a jet engine despite her diminutive size and has an amazing vocabulary of trills, mews and chirps. How could anyone lay eyes on her and not fall in love?

Bio:
My absolute most favorite feature is her left front paw - it's pure gold. We celebrate her birthday in the month that I first took her in: July, she was approximately 1 year old at that point. I can't believe she's going to be 7 next summer.She follows her best pal Jinxy around and observes him doing things before she'll chance it. My husband installed a new mailbox outside our front door. He made a small "shelf" below it for magazines or packages that wouldn't fit in the box. Of course, it became a cat bed - I padded it and added a heating pad. HEAVEN!!!! She used to hit me when I tried to play with her. After seeing Jinx and me playing she decided to give it a shy attempt, and what fun!! Such a cutie! Once she learned about the luxuries of indoor living she didn't spend a lot of time outside anymore. In fact, her official job became holding the couch down. What a little doll!

Update::
I have become an indoor only (almost) kitty. It's much warmer, drier, quieter and comfy in here. Plus, mommy's here to play with and bug all day for more cheekie rubs!

7/98-6/14/07:
I passed away this evening. I have been very ill, especially the past week or so. Based on xrays I have developed megaesophagus and aspiration pneumonia along with several other problems. I was in the hospital most of the week since 6/9. I've been having problems breathing, and based on tests, my current condition and prospective future quality of life, my mommy decided that it would be best for me to go on to Kitty Heaven.

6/14/2007:
My mommy found a doctor that would come to our home to put me to sleep. Dr. Monica came out around 7 p.m. and gave me a sedative to make me more comfortable, and then my mommy held me in her arms as I drew my last breath. Mommy told me she would think of me and miss me forever as I slipped away. It was very peaceful and my sweet presence is already missed.

A Poem:
That's my Gwynnie, there she goes- Upon her little golden toes------- To a place I cannot go- A place where kitties have no woes------- I wish I may I wish I might- That she'd return to me tonight------- I sometimes wonder if that twinkling star- Isn't her smiling at me from afar------- I know someday we'll meet again- Me and my very dear, special friend------- Until that day I will listen for the call- of my most precious, special little Doll
